Just because Macs are expensive doesn't mean they are overpriced.

When you buy a Mac, you aren't paying for the name brand. Do you think Dell and HP aren't name brands? Is Windows not a name brand? That's two name brands per PC.

If you buy a Mac, a lot of the price is for the included software, such as iLife. Also, most included PC software is trial versions.

If a Mac costs $1,000 more than a PC, it is very unlikely that it has the same "specs". You should check your facts.

Macs already have beaten PCs. Just because PCs are much more popular does not mean that they have won. All that means is that they are cheap.

A new Mac comes with almost all of the software that you need. A PC comes with crappy trial software. PCs do not have as good of hardware, get more viruses, and you need to buy more of the software for them. Macs already have beaten PCs.

Once Macs become more popular than PCs is when we need to think about the possibility of them losing.

P.S.- Macs are NOT PCs. PC refers to a computer that is IBM PC compatible. Macs have an EFI, not BIOS, so they are NOT IBM PC compatible and are NOT PCs. Just because something is a Home Computer does not mean it is a PC.
