But we are debating upon dreams.. not nightmares..

Night mares are undesirable - This fact is not even debatable..!! (At least nothing I can think of yet)

But still nature WANTS us to dream.... something that you probably think is "useless"....

But still we do spend our energy on this useless activity, dreaming.....

Perhaps, there is a reason why nature wants us to dream..!!... Perhaps, it's not that use-less too..... :D

and as to the 5 minute thing - Nature has a gradual process of Evolution... Don't worry,, human minds will evolve... and hopefully, would start remembering dreams longer.... :)

Agreed dat “this cruel world doesn’t let u survive if u dream”…

But,, you won’t let YOURSELF survive if you don’t dream….

And I think the latter is worser..!!...

Nothing cannot create everything... But nothing can be identified and named "SOMETHING".... :D

Which is surely something other than GOD..!!

And the process has to be a bit RATIONAL too...!!!...

As to what I believe in,, I believe in myself... and that is ENOUGH to drive my existence..!!!

"more soothing and more sensible as if the dreams have got a brain of their own!!!" = Exactly...!! Dreams don't have a separate brain,, although.. but our sub-conscious mind controls our dreams.. and Sub-conscious means "Involuntary"... afterall, our sub-conscious mind doesn't need consciousness to depend on.... which means the person himself CANNOT CONTROL dreaming..!!

"and the optimism is also affected by the moods of the person!!!" = No..!! It is NOT..!!.... Dreaming is involuntary action... Then how can the person's optimism get controlled by the mood..???..

Mood is asleep as the person is asleep..

Optimism comes when you are awake... You derive optimism from the things you notice around... Optimism CANNOT be generated inside.... It is triggered by other things that we sense... Dreams being one way of triggering optimism,, The nature's way...!!..

"one can't dream of a happy life on his own " = That is why dreaming is involuntary..!!

"Horror dreams" are called NIGHT-MARES..!!.. And we are only talking about pure, harmless "Dreams".. :)

@DSVIRTUO = "considering a person who has faced a brutal break-up keeps on dreaming of a more perfect and happy life with his/her lost mate...won't ever live in happiness since the dream can never be possible...if he/she were living in reality then he/she would have very bravely faced it...!!!" = Firstly,, derez a diff between day-dreaming and night-dreaming..!!

Day Dreaming is controlled by our conscious mind... Something voluntary...... Night Dreaming is NOT..!!... It's the result of the on-going procedures in our Sub-conscious mind!.. something involuntary...

U say,.,,, "dreams of a happier life wid d lost-mate" -- This will be DAY-DREAMING...

Our sub-conscious mind is a lot more sensible... and PRACTICAL

when this same dream is replayed in our sub-conscious mind (Night Dreaming - D TOPIC of d debate)- D vision is different..... It becomes more of a vague figure who is your next mate. i.e. You see yourself happy with a new person (a mysterious person... = Night Dreams of sub-conscious mind ARE blurred)

Get the difference?... :)

And,, what does this 'dream' signify? - That u have hope... a new person to lighten up your life! - See d optimism???...

Moreover,, dis is what any counselor would do at a situation like that.. to console a heart-broken person... So, you see... dreams are like our personal, guidance- counselor... :P :D

Sorry Sorry..!! d same argument got posted twice..!!... EDIT..!!

@DSVIRTUO = “u r talkin as if u really do control ur dreams...or any of ur well - wisher does..!! no DREAM can possibly sooth u as long as it takes u away from from the truth...the bitter one...!! and it is always better to face it, as i mentioned earlier too..!!! “ = We DO NOT control our dreams.. But our better half of the mind,, the subconscious mind DOES control… and for our psychological good only..!!...

No dream can possibly sooth us if it doesn’t take the truth away from us.

Consider, kaemotherapy… a therapy done for Cancer patients.. It is harmful for our body… may pose as a threat… but for the immediate good for us.. It is done… cause it gives relief from the danger that is nearer to us as compared to the other hazards...

It's lot more important to heal a person who is susceptible to depression,, weak and vulnerable rather than teaching them what is "bravery" and what is not at THAT instant... Once they recover, they will know for sure...

Don't underestimate human minds, after all... :)

As to remembering them or not... these dreams may act as an inspiration for such hopeless people who have had a miserable life. It is inspiring.. a more optimistic approach towards life.

So I don’t see any harm in remembering them..!!.... :)
