Phase one ought to be education. We don't talk about these facts often enough. The media rarely mentions them.
For my part, I plan to contribute by using birth control throughout my life and adopting children when I wish to be a mother. As an added bonus, my vajayjay will not be stretched by a baby.
I'd say it's a little early to tell. We've not even gotten to the one-year mark since his inauguration.
And there's no telling what the next two years will hold for our country. It will surely depend on what additional issues we face and how they are dealt with.
Although on the basis of his current work, so long as the economy does rebound within the next year, and nothing else happens, he'd win a second term.
I hate Thanksgiving. Sure, the idea behind it is fine. Give thanks, that's a good thing. But my family always fought at Thanksgiving over politics, and you couldn't get stoned before eating, which kind of ruins "all you can eat" for me.
I'm happily spending Thanksgiving with friends this year, getting stoned, eating a ton, and playing games.
First, I'm not sure popularity actually answers the question of which is better. But, if you're right that Family Guy is more popular because DVD sales resulted in the comeback, then you'll be glad to know that Futurama is coming back because of DVD sales as well. In this case, Futurama producers created four DVD's after the fourth season was over. These were available for rent before they were broadcast on Comedy Central. The response to these has resulted in Comedy Central signing on for 26 new episodes (spread out as two 13-episode seasons). So, Family Guy is not the only show to come back from the dead.
As for Seth MacFarlane being THE greatest comedic writer of all time, I would certainly have to disagree. Not only for the reasons mentioned in my first post (see left column), but also for his other shows, American Dad and The Cleveland Show. The Simpsons may have an off season here and there, but American Dad and The Cleveland Show have been off since they came on air.
In conclusion, Family Guy is certainly a show that appeals to the larger populus (hence the reason Futurama is for intellectual snobs). But this does not make it the better show. For me, what makes Futurama great is the consistently clever plots, character development, and the scifi format, which allows for a lot more imaginative possibilities than Quahog, RI.
Physical education is crucial. For one, it gives kids a break in the day during which to be active. That's exceptionally important if you want them to be focused and attentive during the all-important academic parts of the day. Also, it teaches basic skills like hand-eye coordination and not-so basic skills like teamwork.
Most importantly, research shows that higher grades are associated with vigorous physical activity. Unfortunately, most physical education programs don't offer much of that. So, the problem is that physical education is bad. Not that it exists.
Sure P.E. is in need of reform, but what part of the education system isn't?
Every life support system is in decline. Biological diversity is decreasing at an alarming rate. Natural occurrences are not to blame. We are.
The earth will, of course, survive. But we may not, nor may many other species. This is of a MUCH higher concern than the economy, which is saying a lot considering how big that problem is.
I understand the need to fix the economy, but the environment has been ignored since before the economy was an issue, so it's not an excuse for our inaction.
Finally, economic issues only plague human generations. Environmental isues plague everything alive.
To me, it's a no brainer.
Hey spoon, nice to hear from you. I don't mind answering.
I went to UNLV, Bachellor's of Communications Emphasis on Advertising and Minor in Anthropology. UNLV isn't a great program but there are a few bright spots. The Anthropology Department is good, Hotel Administration it being Vegas, and the Astronomy undergrad courses. There are probably more. I transferred from Gonzaga, which was a very good school, so I had a comparison. I'm a feelance copywriter. When I take on a client, it is usually a CEO or Sole-Proprietor I deal with. I have gotten to know some of them. One of my best friends is CEO and co-founder of a business here in Vegas. 26 years old, no college, born into lower middle class. But he knows everything about what he does inside and out. I gaurantee if someone walked in with nothing but an MBA and an attitude like Palin2020 looking for a job, he would laugh them out of his office ;)
is that just a pic you found on the i-net or 1 you took? its pretty cool.
The book was written by John G. Fuller and Amazon carries it. Take a look at the reviews there and it will explain a lot. The story was about Betty & Barney Hill.
It was a book I read in the 70's about a couple abducted by aliens. It was presented as fact, not a novel. No one could dispute it. They eventually made a TV movie about it, but not by the same name, I'm afraid. Let me see if I still have it and if I can find it even!
Hey I like your replies in the "Are beauty pageants a good thing" debate. However, I think you have tagged your arguments with a "yes" tag instead of a "no", thus giving more points to the other side (which consists only the mother of the pageant girl). Maybe she'll see the light one day! :o)
I see your point in my debate. Interesting, but then again I have not read the bible in ages. Good argument
