It would be viewed as completely unethical due to the fact that the results would be unknown and be carried out without consent.

First mistake: I am sure that plenty of people would volunteer for such testing (suicidal individuals looking for a meaningful death, or individuals who feel as though they have no purpose and thus would take such risks if they knew that it had potential gain- which it would because if one were to receive a drug that killed them, the doctors would know that something must be terribly of).

Secondly, I am sure most individuals on death row aren't consenting to someone injecting them with a needle (which is why they are restrained most times).

The tests could be potentially fatal or cause permanent damage physically, mentally, emotionally, etc.

And why is this any more immoral than doing it to animals? Because humans can laugh? Studies show that rats are actually ticklish.

The fact that no one (no professional) in the medical community is willing to design or administer a lethal injection cocktail should speak volumes to the amount of support this idea would receive.

Your first premise is highly fallible- what respectable doctor would put his reputation at risk by openly advocating such an unfavorable practice? This speaks no volume as it is completely unlikely. The best/fastest solution to finding cures would be human testing, I am sure plenty of doctors would love to become renowned for being the first individual to discover a globally needed cure.

You know this is intentionally absurd... You understood my point was the 'initial' testing. Not the testing that is normally done after the animal-type genocide.
