I feel that Stalin's cunning manipulation allowed him to rise to power. He used his positions as General Secretary of the Communist Party to give his followers high positions.

The Treaty of Versailles was justified. The French Prime Minister Georges Clemenceau described France's position best by telling Wilson: "America is far away, protected by the ocean. Not even Napoleon himself could touch England. You are both sheltered; we are not." They needed the Treaty of Versailles to weaken Germany to prevent future invasions.
