Some of Darwin's concepts had the idea of survival of the fittest which is pretty much what eugenics is. Eugenics does though tell that it CONTROLS the population so I'll give you that

Darwinism didn't exactly have the idea of killing off the weaker links. Only Social Darwinism did.

Darwinism is said to be a scientific theory and Social Darwinism is an ethical theory. Both have the idea of surviving the environment but Social Darwinism explains how the species will compete with itself and only the higher evolved will win. Darwinism says that the organism will evolve with no casualties and survive but in Social Darwinism, there must be casualties in order for there to be more resources for the winner.

Explain how Darwinian concepts lead to eugenics. Use your research to justify your case.

Darwin's concepts lead to eugenics because both have the idea of the environment affecting the organism, forcing it to adapt to the environment. Both also have the concept of the changed traits being inherited from the parent to the offspring.

The slave trade was going on during these times. The way that slaves were treated so poorly and treated like animals made Darwin think that they were less evolved than white people which caused him to think that they were still lesser beings. Their appearance also made him think that this was the case as well. Hathen and Lyell discovered that the Earth was millions of years old and Jean Baptiste Lamarch recognized that living things have changed over time which influenced Darwin to come up with his theories.
