Darwinism and Social Darwinism are similar. Social Darwinism was rooted from the main concept of Darwinism which is that species originate by descent, with variation, from parent forms, through the natural selection of those individuals who best adapt. Social Darwinism is simply applying this to how social order in the world is accounted for. Social Darwinism is saying that the social order is the way it is due to natural selection.
I agree with this because in Darwins theories the species change over time just like in eugenics where things change over time. Eugeincs is also natural and creates more of the traits that will help that specific species to live and get stronger. This natural process is similar to Charles Darwin's theory of natural selection.
During Darwin's time the industrial revolution was taking place. The industrial revolution could have affected people and how much they choose to beleive of theories. The industrial revolution was a time of great change and many thigs were happening which could have made people beleive Darwins theories more easily. Darwins theories also effected the people, for example the church did not like his work very much. Later after his time the Nazis would use his theories of survival of the fittest as an excuse to kill millions of innocent people. Thomas Malthus, George Cuvier, Charles Lamarck, and Alfred Russle Wallace all had influences on Darwin and his work. They all had some similar theories or ideas about populations, anatomy, organisms changing, and even evolution by natural selection.
