I'm not afraid to admit it, that drug laws are doing more harm that good. My family knows that, my friends know that and my congressman knows that.

Even if that is statistically true, I could just as easily argue that people who are criminals, tend to ignore the law. (that is a fact, see the dictionary) And, being people who tend to ignore the law, they are also more likely to do illegal drugs. So rather than concluding that drugs create criminals, you could conclude that criminals are more likely to use drugs.

This argument extends to "pot makes you lazy, even when you are not high" as well. Perhaps people who are lazy tend to look for an easy thrill. Marijuana, is not only easy to procure, and consume, but the drug relaxes you, so the high itself is easy. So, perhaps people who are lazy are more likely to smoke marijuana, since the type of fun that it provides is congruent to their personalities.

I would say benefit. If we are talking about "for the advertiser" this is obvious. Advertising would have stopped a long time ago if it was harmful to business. I'm assuming you mean to the viewer/listener. If it were not for advertising, we would have to pay for radio and TV. Granted cable was originally advertisement free, but in order to cover rising costs, and expected production value, they added a little bit advertising, and it grew from there. I'd say that advertising helps keep costs down, and the quality up.

One problem with that argument. If we judge rather someone should have the right to live or die, by their ability to reason or communicate. I by all rights could kill my 1 year old child. A person with Human DNA, is Human, killing them is murder.

He is really no different than the status quo, and is offering no change. We really need someone who will take us in a different direction. All I hear from Obama is the same I hear from everyone else, "more big government, more big government, more big government". McCain and Clinton are no better. I'm just waiting to see who the libertarian candidate it. Anyone up for that party, except Barr, looks good to me.

It would really suck to have to go through that. (giving birth to your rapists child) while I agree that there could not be many things worse than that, one of the things that would be worse, is death. Why should we force that death onto another party, who has no say in the situation, and is not at fault in any way? It is not right to ease the emotional suffering of one person, by killing another.
