This debate won't get far, I'm not sure what I'm doing. So for the first and most likely only statement here goes.

Laws, new and old, what do people do with them. Hardly anyone has any respect for laws today. Obviously there are some that are blatantly ignored. A small one would be the cell phone law some states have passed. That no one should be driving while on a hand held cell phone. A bigger one was the gun law in D.C. that was laughed at for 30 years. The biggest one would be the law against murder. Just look at the statistics on murder in this country and see how much it is obeyed.

I was ranting on and on about abortion the other night with some friends and one friend looked at me and said that changing the Wade vs Roe decision won't really change a thing. What we need to change is our morality in this country. That really hit me hard. I started thinking about what she said and she was so right. As trite as this sounds I believe that iit all begins at home. If people don't get it at home, where are they going to get it???

I believe the "change" that everyone thinks they want, won't be found in a new President. But will be found in the fundamental basic rights of human beings. And this can only be accomplished by having a strong family. Civilization has evolved because of family, it shouldn't be torn apart.

Changing and making new laws won't help this country. Am I right?? Or way off track??

I am overwhelmed watching Phelps. He is totally part man part fish. I also think that his attitude shows through, he seems to be highly upbeat and still very focused on the goals which he has set for himself.

Jesse Owens had his time and place and will never be forgotten. He opened the door for all the wonderful black athletes we see at almost every event at the Olympics. But today, right now, Phelps is the MAN.

I works for me. Thank God that Kennedy got his head screwed on right about this one... This whole thing about "gun control" in DC, I mean is that an oxymoron or what??? I hardly think that the supreme court's decision will change much of the carnage that haunts DC everyday. They had "gun control" for 30 years and look what an example was set. The most important thing about the coming election is not "how much is gas going to cost" or "getting our troops out of the middle east" but who is going to be put on the Supreme Court. This is one big worry. We need a few more solid "Constitutionalist" up there. Ah, but I ramble....too much time on my hands tonight...

Well now that it's July 5th I'll tell you. Right off my dock, in Southern Maryland!!! How cool was it??? Very. We could look over to St. Mary's County and see fireworks going off in 4 different places. Then if that wasn't enough we could just sit back and enjoy our neighbor's display, which is worth watching every year!!!! You can't beat a full day of sun, fun and water off your own dock then sit and relax in your own backyard and watch the fireworks go off all around you!!! Hard to beat. Oh, yea, the rain came, we went inside, it stopped we went outside and just let the 4th explode around us... No complaints.

Could you be more full of bull-s--t??? I had a situation where my friends child kept biting my little boy. She would say "Tom, don't bite Jim, he's your friend.." Turn you back and little Tom would strike again. This went on for weeks. Finally, I resolved if he did it again I would swat him and tell him NOT to bite Jim again. Even if this meant the end of my friendship... Sure enough while they were playing Jim cried out in pain (a huge bite mark on his back). I took hold of Tom and gave him a whack on the bottom and looked very evil and told him NOT TO BITE ANYONE AGAIN (he had a habit of biting his little brother too). Guess what, in the room, or out of the room little Tom never bit again. Also he is not little anymore and is a rather good kid, who harbors no ill feelings toward me.... Experience, that's what you need. As my Jim would say..."stop talking out of your a-s"...

As a mother of six, I would highly recommend some sort of corporal punishment. Five of them were boys and I had a large paint stirrer that I printed on it "Board of Education". I never took any pants down but a light sharp zap on the thigh never really hurt anyone. My daughter, never, all I had to do is mention the "board" and she complied. Her brothers had set an example for her, she was no dummy. All my children are grown and very accomplished and, imagine this, still love me!

Racism is a two edged sword. People, please. If you didn't think about it before, now, after the ranting of the "Rev" Wright, you might want to rethink that "whites" are the only racist people in the US. Just because your great-great-granddaddy was a slave, so?? Remember they were freed, and much of American blood was shed over American soil for that fact. Instead of hating "whitey" they should start reading about Martin Luther King and start sharing his values and outlook for this country. Now there is a figure you never hear about anymore. And yet he did more for the black people of this country than any other man...

There's that word again "change". Everything changes, the world turns and new things happen. That doesn't mean that "change" is a good thing. Wake up. Pogo said it all: "I have seen the enemy, and it is us". Let's try and not be our own worse enemy, OK?? Try this "for a change" why not "google" some info on Obama and then make a clear decision. Don't you like the lifestyle your living? He will not make it any better, maybe worse. Take a look, wake up....

I don't trust my government, but come on, think of what it would take to do it and how many people would have to be involved. And if you have a lot of people involved, then you will eventually have someone "tell" all. No one can keep a secret now -a-days, forget it, it just couldn't be pulled off. Some of you are watching way too much TV and stupid plot movies... No one could pull this off.
