It's women like you I just don't get... I don't see how some families can brainwash their kids into becoming like you. You give women--and feminism--a bad name. Guess what? They have tampons in Iraq Gasp! They sell tampons in places other than the US and Europe? Double Gasp! Who'da thunk it?

If you're interested in this question, you should read some of Robert J. Sawyer's stuff. He's an awesome sci-fi author, and in his books, he brings up many theories about consciousness and what makes a human human. One of his books, Mindscan, involves this guy, Jake, who "copies" his consciousness into a synthetic body because his "real" body is dying. Before he does this, he signs over his rights of personhood to the synthetic body. His original body, which still has consciousness and memories, goes off to live on the moon in a retirement community-ish place. But once a cure for the thing that is killing the original body is found, the original body holds people hostage and demands his identity back. It's a good read.

A lot of his other books bring up consciousness, too. If you're into that kind of speculation, it's a recommended read.

Oh the MILITARY performed these studies. I automatically side with you now, even though you provide no evidence. Because the military is soooo trustable and all. You've wooed me. I give up all my arguments and all the research I've read to side with you.

If the U.S. is gonna be an idiot and enter into combat where it doesn't belong (Iraq), then it should at least stop its sexist practice of denying combat positions for women. 'Nuff said.

I agree. Ish. I live in America; I practice capitalism. But, theoretically, socialism is better. In practice, socialism has its pros and its cons. But so does capitalism.

There are both sides to every issue. For example:

Some people say that capitalism is better, because the people who actually work don't have to support the lazy bums on street corners, or those who don't want to work. In addition, capitalism encourages people to work because by working they will get rich. The rebuttal to that argument: Some of those "lazy bums," cannot, in fact, work due to mental retardation or physical disability. And the rich people in capitalist societies aren't always the ones who work hard. Oftentimes, they are the ones who inherited Daddy's money, or the ones who know how to corrupt the system, or the ones who were in the right place at the right time.

Both systems have their faults.

"Youngsters" (I'm assuming you mean teenagers) are immature. Fact of life. They lack the maturity and physical development (in their brain) to make some of the more serious, mature decisions that adults do. Then again, "immature" is a relative term. There are some teenagers who are mature in comparison with some adults. But those teenagers are not necessary mature.

And teenagers also are irresponsible. But they are irresponsible in different ways. For instance, the most "irresponsible" thing one teen might do would be not turning in homework; for another, the most "irresponsible" thing they might do would be getting pregnant at 13.

It's impossible to make generalizations with a group as big as this.
