When a wealthier person donates 5% of their yearly income it doesn't decrease their quality of life. But this 5% of the wealthy person's income could be 100 or 200% percent of the impoverished person's income. or more. This means that quality of life in the world is increasing because the 5% of the wealthy person's income will not even be felt by that person, much less decrease his "quality of life", but rather 200% will greatly increase the quality of life of the impoverished person.
