Worrying about terrorism is like any other kind of worry, not constructive. In the case of America, it was very destructive--it gave Bush another term, because he used the fear tactic and promised to fight terrorism. The war in Iraq has killed an estimated 100,000 civilians. Where do you draw the line of what is considered terrorism?

How many "delusional zombies" do you know? Obviously, there are people that take religion too far but I do not believe that because of these people that all people who practice religion should be blamed for the "torture of animals", for instance. As far as I know, there aren't a whole lot of families who attend church on Sundays and then proceed to murder some people.

Besides, the debate is about praying, which is basically hoping. You can hope and pray all you want without being an actual member of a religion. That goes about being a cult.

Just because there is a possibility that gay hate is always going to exist does not mean that we should take away their rights? There's always going to be racial hate, does that mean that we should take away those rights? Showing love in public has nothing to do with marriage and will result regardless of marriage or not. Yes, children are innocent, but those children who are adopted by caring homosexual parents are more ahead then if they had not been adopted. Obviously they were put up for adoption for reasons, they did not leave a home where they were being or were going to be cared for properly. There are simply not enough families who are willing to adopt all the children who need adoption. Why not allow two gay people, in a loving marriage, to look after them?

Let's take the example of the United States of America; powerful and capitalistic, but only at times. During the Great Depression, FDR had to institue socialist measures in his "New Deal", such as rebuilding of publicly-owned property to create jobs. Without this act of socialism in the economy, who knows how long and to what extent the Great Depression would have extended. Currently, the United States is in extreme economic turmoil, because of the capitalism that let banks exploit people. If there had been regulation, as happens in socialisitic economies, then there would not be such a problem. Without NAFTA, there would be 800,000 more high-end industrial jobs in the US, as it is they are in Mexico, because there are no regulations. Socialism is needed, at least to an extent.

Does it matter if others believe that God is real, or not? Most people need something to believe in, it creates hope. As long as it doesn't hurt anyone, believe that God is real or believe that Superman is real. Obviously, we all have our own opinion on if God exists, but does it matter when someone acts better because of their belief? Isn't it worth it to let them pray?
