Proposition 10 would support alternative energy sources, which will lower our dependence on foreign energy sources. It encourages research and development into new energy technology, and clean technology. A yes vote would benefit the environment and national security in the long run.
People who support Proposition 8 say that it solidifies the historic concept of marriage as being one man and one woman. If not passed, then they warn gay marriage will be taught in schools as acceptable lifestyle. Parents should be able to decide what religious beliefs their children have, not the state. This proposition lets the people decide whether gay marriage is acceptable, instead of leaving the decision to the judges.
The redistricting proposed in proposition 11 would remove the decisions from the legislators that have a conflict of interest. Moving the decision to a commission means the decision is more representative and driven by voters choice instead of by the legislatives.
If passed, proposition 12 would give $900m in loans to veterans to buy farms and houses. This is the 27th time California voters have been asked to consider proposition 12. The other 26 times, voters have approved it. The program's costs will be repaid by the veterans who get the loans. New jobs in the housing industry will be created by the veterans, and those buying farms will contribute to local agriculture.
The bailout plan didn't pass because citizens object to having their tax money spent to bail out wall street traders who made bad decisions. The fact that the 700 billion dollar figure was just a number pulled out of a hat shows it wasn't thought through. Even Rush Limbaugh railed against the bailout plan. There was enough public outcry that the politicians voted in line with their constituents.
Andrew Rice has been a State Senator for Oklahoma's District 46 for two years now. He has served on numerous Senate committees. Legislation he has sponsored has focused on Oklahoma's hunger problem, health insurance for children and veterans, and affordable housing.
Barr has experience and has been endorsed by many Oklahoma Senators, Congressmen, and the Governor.
Tony Barr is for nationalized Health Care, investing in alternative energy research, tax reform for the middle class, small business support, and completing projects promised but not delivered by the incumbent, Bill Shuster.
Tony Barr is endorsed by many labor organizations as their candidate. He holds an outsider view, coming from his background as a teacher. His disagreement with many of Bill Shuster's votes fuels his campaign for change.
Susan Collins has sponsored bills trying to get energy assistance by providing credits to upgrade heating stoves.
She hasn't missed any votes, and her other sponsored bills include assistance to small businesses, federal grants to improve Maine's parks and industrial complexes, and condemning actions by governments in the Middle East.
She mainly sides with Republican interests in national security issues, voting against reinstating habeas corpus several times, and voting to give Bush the authority to take military action against Iran.

Her unfamiliarity with basic political ideas of the past four years is shameful. Who in politics doesn't know what the Bush doctrine is? There has been major debate over its validity and whether it was a cause in the 9/11 attacks. The political way she avoids the questions further shows she's not ready for office. It's a replay of Bush being asked about his position on Native American tribal sovereignty, and how he tried to bluff his way through the question.
On the other hand, as of May 15th, Chaka Fattah missed 40.5% of the votes in 2007. During his bid for the mayorship, he misused election funds and broke Philadelphia Campaign Finance law. He also refuses to release his tax records because he does not want to release his wife's salary. He is not a great candidate, and is letting down his constituents who voted for him.
