Imagination is the expanding of concepts put together by knowledge? I'm sorry, this is a debate as to the important of knowledge vs. imagination. Reality is neither-or, just because something is reality, does not make it knowledge. The concept of reality is much more complex then the concepts of both imagination and knowledge. I may imagine and conspire that my next-door neighbor is a drug dealer because I see him meet 'shady' looking people out the front of his house, and and make a 'shady' transaction between money and a brown paper bag, but I do not KNOW that he is a drug dealer. My knowledge is that he is selling brown paper bags and there contents for money, I imagine that there is drugs in the bag due to other facts such as his bad reputation, and the 'shady' looking people he meets up with. It may be reality that he is a drug dealer, but this in neither knowledge or imagination.

Cool man.. Soo much relevance in your argument. My reply?

Is what Hadrian said ever true?

I would say, "Yes".

If so, is there anything that would make it untrue now?

I would say, "No".

(Sarcasm intended)

Answer me this: Where does imagination come from?

Try and imagine a new colour, it's impossible. Now try and imagine the colour red. You can only do through the use of knowledge, and remembering what the colour red is.

But with this point your implying that there is a need for the dream?

so in this situation, without the dream, it is impossible to even finish the dream. 'Finishing the dream' is dependent on 'starting the dream'. Therefore, there's no way knowledge could be more important. My standpoint is that they're both equally important.

One doesn't need imagination to employ knowledge. I don't need any form of imagination to utilize the knowledge which i have already gained. Example, no form of imagination is used when solving the equation 1+1. I have learnt, and hence acquire knowledge, that the combination of these two numbers equals 2. And this point is valid for the very survival itself. As a child I was curious as to what it would feel like to put my hand in an oven when my mother was cooking, I learnt my lesson that an unpleasant burning sensation would be a results of these actions, and it if for this that I know not to put my hand in an oven while it is on. I implied knowledge to discover something that imagination could not do itself.

Sooo... you're saying that imagination solely would lead us to being more knowledgeable and academically strong? Okkkaaayyy thennnn

And without knowledge, you may be able to imagine something new, but you will never be able to put it into practice without the knowledge needed to form it. Therefore, your argument is completely irrelevant.
