I do not believe i was misinterpreting your argument. I was simply stating that is impossible for anyone to know if giving the minority all of the power in a society is effective or if they will simply abuse the privilege as history has shown with a single ruler. Never has there been a qualified, unrestricted group of people calling all of the shots for a particular country. Democracy helps keep the entire population in touch with the governing body and this leads to the equality that all Americans love. However, if no one save the ruling minority had any power the same effect would occur. If anything, the minority who was qualified to rule would have the greatest merit in ascension.

Also, just to clarify, i actually agree with you. I am simply playing devil's advocate in hopes of better understanding why political society evolved the way it did.

Even in the days of monarchy, it was not necessarily the kings who were the best suited for the job. As far as I'm concerned, there has never been a historical example where the best suited rulers had all of the power and the minority lived in a utopia. If you know a contradiction to this please, by all means, enlighten me.

Depends if the jewel is useful while the mineral is not. If both are useful than yes because there is a smaller amount of the jewel so there is a higher demand. The only reason gold is valuable is because everyone wants it, but for no other reason other that it is shiny. In my opinion the only thing that should make something more valuable than something else is how useful it is.

Are you familiar with Mormonism? To most people this religion seems ridiculous as there is very little evidence for it. However, to a Mormon the religion makes perfect sense because they believe it wholeheartedly. My point is that no religion makes sense unless you actually believe in it.

I understand what you are saying and i don't disagree with you, but how would you feel if you became homeless and the government didn't help you out and give you support. Also, since i see a lot of people hate on the government, i am curious, how would you change things if you were in control.
