God is just an ideal...all humans love to believe in something...

In fact, people need to believe in something, follow a set of rules that is laid for them, so that they can go on with their lives happily and be reassured that they can get into paradise after they are dead, and not just left rotting in the ground. At least they can console themselves that they still exist in some form or another.

Besides, if there's a God, what makes you think he doesn't love us? Epidemics and natural disasters are part of nature. I may sound selfish at this point in time, but if there are no such disasters, there would be overpopulation and everyone will just die due to lack of space and food.

I don't think we can really treat everyone of all ages equally, unless you mean mature adults (above 18/21).

If its in terms of human rights, such as the ability to vote, I believe all should be treated the same.

Yet, I believe that exclusive rights still should be given to the 'elderly'. Sure, some are healthy enough to continue being employed and earn their own keep, but age has caused many to be weakened by diseases/afflictions that are common to old age. In this case, I believe that for issues like health care, or minor issues such as priority seats in public transport should be catered more exclusively for the elderly.

Yeah...that's what I'm puzzled about. I found this question in this list of essay questions that we are given, and the only 'account' I can give is the statistics for how much these films fared in terms of box office ratings/money made. We are suppose to give 5 points, 1 point each para, excluding conclusion and intro, but other than the above mentioned point, I can't think of anything else.

Pedophiles have lost their right to be normal once they have committed something against nature. It just isn't right to go for underaged kids and do stuff to them. Pedophiles are sick. They should not be even allowed to live in society like everyone else, so that they can keep on preying on little kids. No one would feel safe when they know that someone like that is living in the neighbourhood.

I believe that it's bad as it brings a totally wrong portrayal of love to teens. They might think that the over-possessive nature and stalker-ish tendencies of Edward should be condoned, just because he's Edward. The epitome of coolness and well, lover boy. If you happen to imagine this scenerio that happens in real life, to you, but not with an ideal guy whom you are almost equally obsessed with, it's with a normal guy, (Well, normal as a stalker can be...) what would you feel? Terrified? Of course, it's a story book. If one knows how to distance themselves from it and not totally follow its social norms, the series isn't extremely bad. Just harmless. Then again, there are some people who are so into the plot, and think that some things that deviate from social norms are good, then there's a problem.

Yes, I would. Yes, the baby is a life, and we have no right to forfeit it. But, I believe that no human would want to be born imperfect. Disabled people who have emerged victorious from their demons and the society's condemnations have gone through a lot of trials and tribulations. Which results in their optimism and gratitude towards life. Not everyone can do that. Besides, bringing a special needs baby burdens everyone. And no one wants to be a burden to anyone. I may sound callous at this point, but in the long term, how do you ensure that no harm comes to it? You can't be around for it forever!

It's always the self-esteem issue, isn't it? We always say pride comes before a high fall, but that doesn't mean we can't pat our backs for a good piece of work done! Either we lack confidence, or that we are afraid of being overconfident. Besides, with all the belittling from our parents, (with good intentions, I hope), it's really hard to actually not say that too much 'power' is good. After all, power corrupts. We avoid all these stuff and attempt to hide our abilities is because we are afraid of being viewed as an outcast from our friends. We want to stand out, but we are afraid that others may not take it as well. But seriously, if they are true friends, then they would really want you to succeed, isn't it? But human beings are creatures that are very much prone to jealousy, and friends are humans as well.

Gosh. I think I'm digressing. >.<

I would choose personality, of course. Maybe not solely based on personality, but definitely not just on looks. I mean, even if the person's beautiful and all, if he is a self-centred pig, narcissistic, and totally rude, I doubt one can actually survive with him for a year, let alone a whole lifetime.

I agree. Doesn't this brings us to the long-debated issue of how does well do examinations assess the intelligence of students? The education uses examinations to assess the 'weak' points of students, but, do they really make the students learn? Not only that...the education system is supposed to educate the young, teaching them knowledge. But, what knowledge? Knowledge that is only applicable to examinations? Or is it life skills that the students need? I think think that it is the latter, and the education system is sorely lacking in this aspect. What's the point of education then?

Lols. It depends if you look pretty enough, isn't it? Besides, it might be more prevalent in Western countries than Eastern countries. But NO, I wouldn't do it because firstly, it really depends on your looks, and I'm am sure that mine is not desirable enough. Lols. Secondly, it's weird! I mean, do you REALLY need THAT money?! It's almost equivalent to prostitution, except that this is more publicized. You are selling your freaking body!! -.- Of course, some people do not regard virginity as something to be given to their bethrothed on their wedding night, neither do I, but wouldn't it be better to pop your cherry to someone you actually know?
