Limited government under the Constitution has enumerated powers as stated; departing from those enumerated powers gives license to corruption of the Constitution, and to government to abuse and misuse its powers to create fear, coercion, and animosity resulting in resentment.
Government was meant to protect and defend its citizens, not to harass them, and dominate them. Departure from enumerated powers is therefore treasonous to the Constitution, and to the American people. Restoring the Constitution means government limiting itself, not unleashing itself from historical restrictions and restraints - to anyone, including corporations.
Americans already have taken the position of moving toward one world government in that it is a member of the G-8, and directions are made with respect to other governments and their policies. It just isn't done formally, or through the UN, nor should it be, since the UN is a research and mediator model, designed for cultural unity, not for international dictatorship.
To confer such powers on the UN would undermine every nation and its electoral system to produce democratic elections and administrative functions; too many governments and too many different styles for the UN to become the government of the world. Collective chaos is no cure for clarity and cooperation.
Government as those who distribute taxes or borrow in the name of government (for deficit spending) have the lever which determines who will work harder by their construction of the tax code, and distribution of those taxes. When they pay government contractors, (war and weapons makers) or private business (i.e., prisons), they distribute taxes to those persons. When they tax businesses, (or those persons who own businesses), they send the message to work harder, or work less hard (by giving tax cuts).
Government is simply the lever (i.e., of the faucet) that tends to create jobs, or to reduce jobs by the choices they make in the messages of stimulus or of tax fairness they choose.
To insure they work for the American people, government must know where income comes from for all in order to choose wisely, and spur the economy, or cool it down to prevent inflation.
