Just because these advancements originated in religious organizations does not mean their invention can be attributed to them. If Darwin was not christian he could have made the same discoveries if not more. And think of the modern view of Darwin's theories. Almost all of the people ignorant enough to deny its validity are motivated by scripture and religion. And what of all the advancement opposed by religion? All the bloodshed in its name? How can you say that without religion our world today would not be a better place? It is what divides people and what closes their minds. Peace and religion will never exist together.

End where's your proof? Your magic book that's true because it says says it's true? Science has a hell of a lot more credit than a magic book. We can observe the world around us for an hour and know more than one would if he read any form of scripture.

Wow. This god guy sounds great. The only prayer he answers is "Please don't torment me in hell forever."

I don't see how this instance helps your case. You just said that you prayed for your grandma to be healed but she died. How is that in any way answering your prayer? You are trying too hard to rationalize the fact that your prayer was not answered. So if your god exists(which you insist he does) he stood idly by as your grandmother suffered and as she died and did nothing. How can you believe in a god this cruel?
