I understand your skepticism and all your arguments make sense to me. I wonder though, if instead of putting lectures on video for your class, could you develop a game for them to play that would help them move through the material as homework? There are so many great ways to gamify content now, and that way you might see more of the students completing the homework. I'd be interested in hearing your thoughts on this suggestion. The pressures of work, taking care of family, and other obstacles make it difficult for adults to attend face-to-face classes as often as they might like to.
