I would personally say that women in general have it a lot harder than men. First of all, for thousands and thousands of years, women were treated as inferior to men. Even though we've made great strides in modern days, those years are still affecting people today. Catcalling, rape, and just generally being treated as sub par to men are still commonplace in today's society. There is a very small amount of female representation in Hollywood, and even more so, the roles of a mother or "housewife" are now being treated as inferior or degrading, even though they are legitimate, nonpaying jobs that demand nearly all of a woman's time. Responses like "It must be that time of the month" are still used a humorous comeback to explain away any angry or "aggressive" behavior from a woman, as if they can't have those feelings are less valid from a woman. Also, we deal with periods every month, which are accompanied with headaches, nausea, and unbearable cramps, while we are expected to live our normal lives. I could go on for much longer, but likely no one has bothered to read this whole thing.
I am probably a good person but I haven't taken the time to fill out my profile, so you'll never know! |
