Yes, they are more fortunate now than before. Many of the people are better able to afford more of and choose from a greater variety of goods. With the increased in choice, and ability to buy more goods, the standard of living for the people now have increased and thus they enjoy a better life and thus are more fortunate. This can be seen from in the past, many of the people have to work hard just to live and now we see many youth enjoying luxury goods.

Yes they are more rude than before. This is because of the increase in the practice of expressing views and opinions online freely, this has lead to the youths believing that it is okay to express what they feel whenever and wherever, which may seem rude to the other people in the society. This can be seen from the rapid increase in the use of social media in the world, with the increased accessibility and commonplace of the social media, more of the youths express their views on a daily basis. They unconsciously practice what they do online.
