Lockers should absolutely get searched. It is not invasion of privacy because the lockers are the property of a public school. Therefore, the lockers belong to the school and students should be smart enough to only put books and deodorant in them. The consequences should be decided in accordance with what they are caught in possession of. Obviously, the consequences for a gun versus drugs ought to be different.
For the people that are innocent, they would not be pleased with being searched. But it is better being safe than in danger.
Students would say it is their privacy to avoid being searched, but that is false. It is the school property and they are aloud to search students whenever they want. A reason is that students could be holding drugs at school. Or weapons, or other illegal substances. Searching students will prevent future addiction, gang violence, and improve the safety of the community and city other than the school.
