Homework should not be assigned to students for these reasons:

1. It causes incessant stress and sleep deprivation. High school students need at least eight hours of sleep every night but most students spend most of their nights awake, working on homework.

2. Homework can be done succinctly and concisely, without any focus or interest in actually trying to learn. If homework was not assigned, students would have more interest on the subjects rather than try to get their required work done.

3. Students, especially high schoolers, have activities and clubs outside of school, so excessive homework takes up too much of their time.

4. Proponents of homework think homework is important just because "more is better" but an overload can actually reduce academic achievement.

5. People think that homework can improve children's responsibility and organization skills but in actuality, parents are the ones who organize children's homework starting from their early school years.

6. Some say that homework keeps children out of trouble but experts say that children spark new ideas and creativity when they are not in structured time.

7. Homework can lead to obesity because they do not have enough time for outdoor activities and no time for family or household chores.
