Yes, I agree that this speech was meant to be motivational because our President really showed that he cared for us, students, and he just wants us to use our best potential to succeed in life. This speech was a good way of motivating us to do our best or not give up no matter what obstacles we have to go through to be someone important in the future. He was really open and made us feel like he knew what it was like because he experienced it; which had a direct connection with students who have had hardships of all kinds that may have affected them academically. Therefore, I am content with President Obama's speech. However, I still feel a bit guilty when he said that when we give up on ourselves, we give up on our country; that's a bit too much of a heavy weight on our shoulders don't you think?
