Great music debate, sorry that I had to add an argument to each side, but I really can go both ways! =) Write something to waaykuul...this all goes to your definition of a terrorist. I was flipping around and saw a site that says there are over 120 different technical definitions of a terrorist. In my opinion, a terrorist is someone who uses violence outside of warfare, intentionally targeting a civilian population, for the purpose of forwarding a political goal through intimidation or fear. The Weathermen fit the bill IMO. The Pentagon is an office building, although obviously an office building for the military. The Capital is not a military targets. The officers club at Ft Dix during a dance with civilians is not a military target. A police station is not a military target. The banks and armored cars they robbed to fund their ops were not military targets. The cops killed, armored car drivers and other bystanders were all civilians. I know however that stuff makes sense sometimes when we write them because we see them how we meant them to look. Of course they don't look the same to someone else. For example, I wasn't calling you an eight year old; I was riffing off of Obama's silliness about his being eight when the bombings occurred. He has never been blamed for the bombings, just for overlooking them when he got together with Ayers. Anyway, I need to stop posting in the middle of the night when I am tired and cranky. Thanks for your apology but it wasn't necessary. I overreacted because I was tired and still pissed off from the previous two lengthy fights with other folks. hey, if I was sensitive to being attacked I wouldn't feel free to attack myself. No worries. What I don't have patience for is the kind of games I felt you were using last night. picking part of a phrase to make me defend or part of what I said. Or responding to my attacking Obama by attacking McCain. Just because I am scared of Obama doesn't mean I am thrilled with McCain. I defend him on several counts but that is it. This is the third time in a row folks have challenged me and resort to the same tactics. it just gets old and I am afraid I don't respond well. truth is that I was almost literally rolling on the floor when you said Ayers isn't a terrorist because he says he isn't. I don't think dcool15 IS repubgal...I do believe they are somehow connected in all this though. All those names came so quickly it was difficult to decide who was who. Thus far she is certaily repubgal, opinonated and crazyvoice and probable ohfackk and jodi. Again these names with nothing on them are coming fast and furious. dcool has gone his own way, so to speak, which bodes well for him but he's a nasty little bugger. Kuul...I think you should familiarize yourself with some of Pgy's debate answers before being critical in public on this. He & I are allies, lol, and once in a while we taunt each other! His language is absolutely vile and he can be so pig (pyg) headed without answering the debate question. Just take a look...and then decide. He's almost as evasive as Joe but with a foul mouth to boot...and I mean in general, not specifically! He's a hoot. Ink is also my ally in a way! Surprised? He's a long winded fellow but sometimes he makes good points. He's just hard to read at times. Chris dude im not repubgal for 1 im a dude 2 i live in nc 3 i have no idea who she is a a person 4 well... she just int me ↑ Allies:

No matter how much I try, I can't picture this as "moving" me. Cartoons in themselves are often light and humorous, and the jaunty, informal attitude associated with fist bumping doesn't quite help. Perhaps a painting of Obama looking up at Lincoln's statue would have moved me more. Posted 25 days ago | Tagged As: Nah, too sappy
Apparently they're taking a "participate in debates" break. Just look at the "Online" section of their profiles. For example, I just checked Bradf0rd's, and it said he was on 1hr 39mins ago. And loudacris was online 1hr 40mins ago. So they're here...but not actually writing any arguments... Posted 26 days ago
The conservative-liberal divide has been steadily widening ever since Bush's presidency. It seems that the latest Obama vs. McCain divide has accelerated this. Democrats became stauncher Democrats. Republicans became stauncher Republicans. As Republicans suffer the repercussions of losing the president position (after losing Congress in what seems like 'just yesterday'), they'll be driven away from Obama. And the widespread media support for Obama (far larger than for Kerry) also alienates many Republicans due to their "bias." (well, they still have Fox news...). Plus Obama's highly liberal stance on abortion, gay marriage, and taxation has not and will not be easily swallowed by Republicans. Many (of course, not all) Republicans supported McCain solely to oppose Obama - not because McCain was a good candidate. McCain was the safe haven for racists, anti-"socialists", higher-income voters, and pro-life advocates. Meanwhile, with a strong Democratic president at the helm (with the support of both houses of Congress), Democrats will be far less willing to compromise with Republicans. This will only widen the rift. And tough economic times (Great Depression) and faraway, disliked wars (Vietnam) have never been known to help unite Americans, instead leading to a lot of finger-pointing. Glassbooth seems to be pretty similar to what I'm proposing. It's a bit more comprehensive (yet better). A very interesting way to figure out which candidate you like. Posted 32 days ago | Tagged As: yes
Stability in both Iraq and the Middle East is a significant factor in why we're still staying in Iraq. It is feared that if the US pulls out prematurely, the new Iraqi government will eventually collapse and violence will escalate. The US presence in Iraq is also used to keep pressure on other Middle East countries to thwart terrorists. Posted 37 days ago | Tagged As: Stability
As Thrasymachus in Plato's Republic and Machiavelli in The Prince argued, an unjust person gets farther in life than a just one. "Every one admits how praiseworthy it is in a prince to keep faith, and to live with integrity and not with craft. Nevertheless our experience has been that those princes who have done great things have held good faith of little account, and have known how to circumvent the intellect of men by craft, and in the end have overcome those who have relied on their word. " - Machiavelli "Injustice, if it is on a large enough scale, is stronger, freer, and more masterly than justice" - Thrasymachus Posted 37 days ago | Tagged As: Pragmatism
