People expect too much because medical science is a broad field of study and the technological advancement in medical science has no boundaries or limits.
In recent years, significant breakthroughs have been made in the medical science field. For example, in the United States, 1 in 3 surgeries can be expected to be performed by robotic systems, with surgeons sitting at computer consoles guiding mechanical arms. According to the US surgeons, such robots reduce fatigue and give them a greater precision during the surgery. Successes such as this,suggest that there is limitless potential in the advancement of medical science.
As such, since there is much successful advancements in the medical science field, people would expect too much of medical science as they would believe that it would continue to improve significantly, and become omnipotent.
