Tied Positions: I'm scared of you! vs. DH is God's Warrior
They tried to give me six months more because I got in a couple fights and hurt one guy pretty bad. But my attorney and God got me out since they knew I belong in the world to fight evil. I wanted to check in here and see what you sinners are doing? Ars you washed in the blood of the lamb?My first night back and the curtains in my room caught fire. God was winking at me!!
As some of you might now, the Taoists' Holy Book is called the Tao te Ching. It is second only to the Bible as the most read religious book in the world. (Yes--it tops the Koran.) If you can call Taoism a religion. Really it may not be. No Gods or Holy men, but a great train of wisdom that basically tells us there is a vast and all-encompassing Power in the Universe, like an Infinite Mind, that can be tapped into for strength and guidance. The "Tao" is like the "Way." And Taoism is also about "going with the Flow" or the Power of Non-Action. I find sometimes reading the Tao te ching as enriching as the Bible. Sometimes more so! Here are some passages of wisdom for it. The great part of the Tao is that even some Atheists and Agnostics can use the Wisdom. Deists and those who believe in a Deist Force God also like it as well. My Church, Unity, since it's probably the Most Progressive and Inclusive and Tolerant Church in the Country--as far as accepting other religions--also incorporates some Taoist principals as a way to Meet and Know God. See, There is More than One Path to travel in order to Know God. Tis a shame more people don't understand this, as it severely limits their chances. Christianity is only ONE way! and NOT the be-all and end-all!! If you like, I invite you to read and comment and some of these thoughts..............https://www.goodreads.com/work/quotes/100074
the angry little troll AintNow has tried to attack and slander my Unity Church by saying we embrace Hindu beliefs and scriptures. It is funny how he thinks this is an insult. I personally think they have some of the best philosophical and spiritual writing in the world. One of their most famous writers is Rumi, whom I think had better wisdom than is found in the Book of Proverbs. I invite you all to take just a couple minutes and read some of these gems. How anybody could say they are evil or apostate is beyond me. Then again, we ARE dealing with the angry little fals prophet who calls himself AintNow. http://www.patheos.com/blogs/hindu2/2016/02/jalaluddin-rumi-quotes-poems-on-life-love-death/
Did anyone survive? What do you think this song is about? If this doesn't fire you up for the holy spirit than your blesser is broken!http://youtu.be/HZyE9QApvEU
I am a Born Again Christian who loves God, loves my Church, and loves and admires and tries with all my heart to live by the teachings of Jesus of Nazareth.People can be followers of somebody's creed and ethos, their teachings, and call themselves followers of the this person, even disciples, without being required to believe that person is Divine or Immortal. Or much less, God.A follower of, say, Martin Luther is a Lutheran. A follower of John Calvin subscribes to Calvinsim. A follower of the Tao believes in Taosim.A follower of Jesus is a Christian. This is not a difficult concept.Yet a few of our more narrow minded and zealous false prophets here tell me that I cannot refer to myself as a Christian since I question the physical, or bodiy resurrection of Jesus. And instead am inclined to believe it was a Spiritual Resurrection--an awakening, if I may--of His disciples. As to what His message was for us and what His life and ministry meant.I of course am not alone. Many theologians (most?) agree with me. In my right to call myself a Christian. My favorite contemporary John Shelby Spong has claimed this for decades. He is the former Bishop of the Episcopalian Church.I offer these thoughts not so much to justify my beliefs, since I am very comfortable and secure in them, but rather to welcome all who feel the same into the fold of Christianity. Don't let the zealots drive you away! Please.A brief perusal of this great article tells more.http://religionnews.com/2014/04/16/can-question-resurrection-still-christian/
Today at my gym two guys actually got in a physical fight arguing over their favorite Super heroes. I'm not kidding, my brothers..we had to separate them before someone got hurt. One guys fave was A captain America and the other dude said Captain was boring. I agree, btw. And it was on!So...no fisticuffs here, but who do you like? Hate? Which one is stupid? Overrated? I will begin by saying I am a Spiderman guy. I also like Iron Man/Tony Stark.
Some street corner Zealot preacher recently did a rant where he yapped that Allah was based on a moon god. To this I say, so what? Most ancient ideas of gods cone from previous ideas and sources. It's how cultures work. And try to fathom their idea of God.I believe in the one true God. I think that the Christians don't necessarily know all there is to know about the Creator of the universe, and that good ideas of God can be found in other religions.Yahweh was no exception to bring an invented God from a pagan source. as this will explain.http://www.jesus-messiah.com/studies/yahweh-full-copy.html
Winning Position: Hell yeah he does!

Nah, he brings us together!
I have accused AintNow of actually doing more harm than good in trying to give agnostics and atheists our Testimonies on the power and Love of God and Jesus. I have claimed he actually Widens the Gulf between us Christians and the non-believers. That he is a Divider and NOT a Uniter, as I try to be. As my Unity Church tries to be. I consider myself a Progressive and Ecumenical Christian and AintNow thinks that is tantamount to being a heretic. What do you think? If you are Atheist or Agnostic, what has AintNow done to effect your beliefs about Christians?' God Bless. Thank you for your time.
Do you agree with me and my Church that a person can call themselves a Christian if they admire, believe in, and try to the utmost if their ability to follow the teachings if Jesus? And they place prime importance on helping others and accepting people from different faiths? And not condemning? As Jesus taught? But this followed of the Teachings if Jesus believed Jesus was a mortal teacher? But was so enmeshed into the Holy Spirit as to have Divine Teachings? And that His Resurrection was one of Spirit? And not a physical one?Is such a believer and adherent to Jesus's teachings still entitled to say he is a Christian? I humbly ask since some angry fundamentalists like AintNow and Batman condemn us. Say we are Satanic even! Just for being Tolerant and Progressive! What say you?God bless

No! God is Still Omnipotent
Many if not most scientists in the field of Cosmology and Astronomy believe that it is quite likely our Universe is teeming with Life. With Intelligent Life. And that we are just one civilization out of perhaps Millions. Indeed, when one becomes aware of all the candidate planets for life, it does seem to be a good bet. A recent Cosmologist who did the Math reckoned that if one out of a Billion planets had life and one out of Billion of THOSE had intelligent life, well, that would still leave Billions of Intelligent ET Civilizations out there. So here is my Question: suppose for a moment that tomorrow we DID discover for sure that there ARE others out there. Would this diminish the notion of our God as we know Him from the Bible? That is, since the Bible says Nothing about others, would the finding of ET life show that our God is just our own Man-made idea? Like the Atheists say? And that its likely that other Intelligent species have their OWN Gods? Who are just as real to them?
As a Christian I would like to take this opportunity to openly say that I do not think my Religion is the only way to find God. Some of the more zealous and fundamental Christians will balk at this. So be it. I don't think a God as loving and Inclusive as our Creator God would send just ONE man to Earth, in all the time we have been here, so spread the Word to us. Jesus was a Son of God, yes! But I DO think He was human, a mortal, and even though His teachings were so profound so as to be of a Divine Nature, He was NOT the only Prophet or Sage that God has sent us. There have been others. Siddartha Gautama (the Buddha).....Lao Tzu, the founder of Taoism....Mohammed...Confucius. These were ALL Sons of God who were Inspired by their Creator. Christianity is my personal choice of Religions. But I do not think for a minute that we have the Only Say on matters concerning how to Live a Good Life and come to Know God. The best parts and dogmas, doctrines, of the World's Religions are like spokes on a Wheel. Those spokes can lead us to the Hub of that Wheel. Which is God the Creator. All religions have their good and bad points. All have been corrupted to an extent. All have false prophets. And ALL have a primary Inspiration from God. Jesus is my personal choice for my Spiritual Guide. But God is my Savior. I think that God would not care if we found our Way to Him through Buddha, Mohammed, or Jesus. As long was we lived good and loving lives and sought His Will for Us. I just want some of you agnostics and even atheists out there to Understand that not ALL Christians think that those who do not believe as we do are Condemned. And cannot Find God. Thank you, and God Bless. And God Speed on whichever Path you choose to Find Him!

The Bible Proves Jesus was a Progressive Liberal!
I get accused of not being a real Christian by some of the fundies here because of my progressive and liberal Christians views. Both on the Bible and in my theology. What most fundies are clueless of is that Jesus was an indisputable liberal for His times. A true Progressive. The Bible Proves it.The Right Wing has hijacked Christianity. They are today's version of the Pharisees. Who Jesus had no time for. Jesus would also have little patience with today's zealots, fundies, and Christian Right.I have had enough of them.Demon Hunter
I submit for your approval a link which explains how the NIV version of my beloved Holy Bible was actually NOT tweaked by an alleged gay woman on the board of translators and the founding committee so as to soften the bible's stance on homosexuality. As AintNow claimed. But here's the KICKER!! Many biblical scholars say that version was actually HARSHER in wording on the KJV's original wording on the sins of homosexuality. This just shows AintNow should NEVER be trusted. I will continue to prove why he should not as I aim to research and destroy any of his biased and groundless posts that I find to be wrong. He needs to get used to this, I reckon.http://www.christianpost.com/news/latest-niv-bible-translation-clearer-on-homosexual-sins-says-theologian-66393/
Contrary to what most Christian fundamentalists and biblical literalists like SaintNow and Dadman will attest, the Holy Bible is NOT the inerrant work of God. It is NOT perfect, but rather flawed. It DOES contain many inaccuracies in translation as well as contradictions. But more importantly, it is NOT an infallible book of Answers, but rather a glorious, messy, abstract book og Questions. And by using allegorical and metaphorical stories to ask these questions of us, it is by ANSWERING them that we truly become enlightened and get to KNOW God. God's Grace gives us the inspiration and insight to find these answers. I say this as a Born Again Christian who loves the Bible and reads it nightly. I find it sadly ironic that the literalists who smugly and self-righteously claim to know their bible better than us progressive Christians, actually get LESS out of it than we do. It's like taking beautiful poetry or Shakespeare literally! And missing the whole point. Like these literalists would say, after hearing the lines "Look, in yon eastern window is Juliet! She is the sunrise!" They would say, "yeah, well, God made her the Sun so she could have the power to burn all the sinners and....." Blah Blah Blah. See? They take as literal things that WERE NEVER MEANT TO BE! The Bible was never meant to be a single cohesive work. It was cobbled together over the course of more than a dozen decades. By probably three dozen different authors. Most of whom never even knew each other. The FIRST Gospel, Mark, was not written until a good 30 years AFTER Jesus was killed! By the time we get to John's Gospel, a full 65 years had passed since Jesus died. This is like you writing today about a man who conducted a brief three-year ministry back in the early 1950s! So of course mistakes and embellishments were made. The literalists who read this will accuse me of apostasy and maybe even of Evil. Fine, such silly accusations only make my point of how deluded they are. I write this mini-manifesto to let you agnostics and atheists know that not ALL of us Christians are as intolerant and self-righteous and reactionary, as Fundamental as Saint Now and Dadman. Many of us are reasonable and friendly sorts who love and embrace science and don't feel that it has to butt heads with Religion. Many of us know that our Holy Book can be downright confounding and seemingly bizarre at times. But to me this is part of the beauty of it. I love the Bible and I love God and I truly believe He Saved me so help carry His Word. And our Word..HIS Word, is a great deal more accepting and tolerant than some of my more Fundamental Christian brothers would have you think. Thank you so much for your time in reading this. We discussed this topic in Church Sunday and so it has been on my mind and I wanted to share with my new CD friends.

How the Bible borrowed from Earlier Religions...
I have tried to patiently inform some of our more zealous Christians (they're really not Christians) about how my beloved Bible is a great and wonderful collection of fables and myths and allegory and prose, but is NOT the inerrant word of God. Rather, some of it WAS inspired by God, but alas, much of it was borrowed from earlier religions. As this list will show. Please read from the link and then feel free to comment. I will not address ar even allow ANY posts from those who have not read the list of borrowed (plagiarized?) stories the Bible used. I humbly offer this list not to disparage my bible, as I truly love it and read it daily. I do this only to enlighten those who want to know more about it. http://listverse.com/2013/06/30/ten-influences-on-the-bible/
So I got am idea from another member on another debate about how it might be fun to pick another member here and then post a pic of how you think he looks. Do you like our music? we always like to get input from fans and non-fans too! what do you or dont like about it. all comments and critiques welcome, nobody will be banned. I DO prefer constructive criticism over just plain hate though!DHhttps://youtu.be/uSDmtEbOTZY
God Bless you my Brothers. I just finished typing a reply to Iso when he asked about my belief in Demons and my username. I wound-up explaining to him how they work. and i thought my reply came out fairly well so I wanted to share here with you since this has been a topic of discussion for the past week..........."Demon Hunter" is the name of my former band. I DO believe they exist. I have seen them. Twice, in person. I WOULD like to track and destroy them but I have learned this is basically impossible for us humans, the best we can do is to avoid them and to exorcise them, which is to just send them off somewhere else.Demons result from a tangible and physical force that emanates from the Entity we call Satan. Which is an infinitesimal point of Pure Negative Energy that was created with the Big Bang. Just like God is the opposite Force of Positive Energy. The energy packets HE sends we call Angels. It's yin and yang, man. Pos and Neg, light and dark. Most things in since and nature come in cycles and Balance and composites and Good and Evil are no Exception. One day we will be able to quantify, to measure Demons and Angels.A lot of myth surrounds them. As people have shown here. Simply reciting empty incantations or mantras or playing with a Ouija board doe not bring demons. they need a portal for entry which begins in your mind. just like electricity needs a conduit. I used to be a conduit and they almost killed me.When I was blasted with Positive Energy from the Godhead this is when I call it being Saved. It is a colloquialism. All of this is actually science-based, not superstition based. But I also know there are many fraudulent reports out there that lessen the credibility of all this stuff."God Bless.
So the SaintNoClue guy posted a really really awful video of some old lady warbling some gospel stuff on a debate about Best Music. Talk about a misnomer! And when I posted one of my favorite Rolling Stones songs, Sympathy for the Devil, he ov course called it Demonic, and suggested I do my own Debate for Demonic Music. So let's do it! Your favorite Demonic song? Or Christian song? Or anything that inspires visions of Gothic or Shock Rock stuff. You know, we're talking Alice Cooper, Ozzy, Pantera, Marilyn Manson, Black Sabbath, Megadeath, that sort of thing. I am going to share some stuff from my old band, too, if that's OK.
Free for All time, my brothers!Make a post. Use it to tell us all anything you want!No holds barred. No bans. No repercussions...Use this OP to either tell us off, divulge a deep dark secret, or even praise us. Or God. Or whomever. It's all yours............!!

Winning Position: What do you guys DO?
hello new friends. as a new guy I am interested in some details in my CD friends here. so I was wondering is some of you wouldn't mind sharing what you do for a living? Students? Workers? Parents? Retired? Homeless who use the public library for this site? I live in Texas and am married for two years now and am a co-owner and work at a CrossFit Gym (we call them "boxes") with my longtime friend, who is the majority owner and founded this place about four years ago. IN the Fall I am going to begin Seminary School in Missouri with the Unity Church. My wife is a elementary school teacher. we have no children, yet. and you? (oh if you're embarrased about your lot or just dont want to answer that is fine too. I know we have (well it seems) a lot of kids here who still live at home but I would like to hear from you too.
