I dunno about you, but this song always irritates me and before now I've always thought it what it saying was a load of poop - but is what it's saying TRUE - and not just for girls?
Think about it this way: Is anything us humans do unlinked to happiness - having fun?
Challenge me on this on; can you think of something that is either what humans do or manmade and that has nothing to do with happiness?
In your dream world, what would your life be like?
Yes, I know this isn't really a debate, but just write what you'd love to happen?
If you're stuck for pointers, which I doubt will happen, here are some suggestions:
Would you get married? Who to?
How many children would you have?
Which car would you drive?
Which house would you live in?
What would your job do?
Where would you live?
Etc. etc.
I can predict the outcome of this debate: Apple will win. Apple's products are always smarter and neater and more expensive. They also provide a wider range of products (iphones, ipods, etc. as well as computers). They have good apps and programs and you can be quite creative with them if you use them in the write way. So, how is there any competition?
Personally, I prefer Windows. What? I hear you say. Yes, I said it; I prefer Windows. The programs are so much easier to use, by just exploring you can become master of Windows, they're cheaper and they're just more enjoyable. The appearance isn't anything particularly special, but I think Windows are more reliable and they don't rip people off by selling ipods for nearly £200 each!
You probably disagree with me but, there you go...
Imagine this:
You and your friend have decided to take a short-cut home through the woods. Your phone just ran out of credit texting your friends invitations to your party and his/her phone has a password. There is an escaped prisoner on the loose and was seen in this area but you think it'll all be fine because yesterday you found out you got your black belt in karate. As long as you and your friend stick together, you'll be fine.
With about half an hour's walk left, you friend and you decide to race to a nearby tree. He/She goes rushing on ahead and trips over a large tree-root. He/She falls flat on his/her face and passes out. You try to pick him/her up but you can't carry him/her very far before you have to put him/her back down. You realise it would take hours like that.
What do you do?
Okay, so I've always been a bit sceptical about what's true and what's not in American films. I mean, do you really have those lockers about five foot tall? Do you sit near the bins if you're not cool? Or does Disney and Warner Bros etc make us think that?
Also, what do you think us Brits are like? Do you think we're all geeks who go around drinking tea, fish & chips at the ready, talking in really posh accents? Coz I mean, Harry Potter didn't help...!
Although I am British and probably prefer the British education system, I can see the sense in the American way of doing things.
I like the way the British keep us all together so you know when you're changing schools and you all go through it together and you're never the odd one out and you stay with your friends - but I can also see the sense of the American way where you're grouped in your abilities, not your age...hmmm...
What about you?
