Thanks to the 2008 recession, 1.2 million American families had their homes repossessed by the banks. These were people who fell behind on mortgage repayments because of redundancies and cutbacks also caused by the recession.But the banks were bailed out of their own financial disaster by tax dividends from the same people whose homes they were repossessing!! Trillions of dollars in taxpayer money which the taxpayer had no say about donating, and no offer from the banks to leverage that tax money against mortgage repayments owed on their homes.This is the basis of what capitalism is. It is a system for screwing the poor.
