The debate is about why some kids are smarter than others, not about how all kids without friends choose that because they spend there time on school work.
some kids have smarts genetically, but a lot of time some of the kids that are naturally smart only have school as their friend so they spend lots of their time looking educational websites and only focusing on things that are academically based!
No, alot of smart kids aren't friendless. You can choose if you want to be smart or not, but some kids have advantages or disadvantages... it doesn't matter about how many friends you have. Its not like the more friends u have the stupider you are. Its if you apply yourself and work hard you can exceed, not if you don't have any friends you will be smart.
No... Smart people don't think that school is there only friend, they just devote a lot of time to it. Just because you are naturally smart doesn't mean you feel like school is your best friend. It may simply be there genetics and there background.
Lets say you are pretty much trailer trash, and don't devote a lot of time to school, then more in likely you wont succeed in school because you did not care to. But lets say you are very privileged, and a devoted student. Obviously you devote a lot of time to school, and your parents push you to succeed. You will obviously be more successful. It does depend on the environment you live in and your genetics. Like my grandfather was a Professor in Math. Because of my genetics, i excelled in math.
Then there are some kids that because of there genetics, they have the ability to understand better than other kids. Some people just have an inability to comprehend some matters while others breeze through it.
So i disputed your point Gidget25 because people that are really smart, don't necessarily think school is there only friend and there life. They just work harder than most to succeed and some people just have better tools that help them excel.
no, because the children will grow up to believe that even if they loose they are still a winner... no... if you loose you loose... there is no reward for you... you did not do as well as the person who won so you need to deal with that.
Its just my belief... its hard to explain... Why do you believe in evolution (assuming you do)... My best guess would because its logical... Yeah, fast food is fast, but is it seriously worth dying young of obesity and the diseases it brings? they shouldn't stop it entirely, but they should cut half the fast food restraunts in the country and replace them with healthier fast food (for example, grilled chicken, vegetables, baked french fries, etc..) America is becoming obese.. also, parents need to learn about calories and how to control their kids' diets.. a child should not have two sodas with french fries and a greasy burger for every meal :/

true... but what if new evidence comes out that proves they did it? then they cant have a retrial at all with the double jeopardy law... My opinion is that they don't just continuously retry the case with the same evidence, but that if new evidence is found that shows the person that was tried once for a crime, can be tried twice if more evidence is found that proves they did it.

I agree with you on that point. Yes sometimes cops abuse there power. Without them though the people that have raped, and murdered innocent people have been imprisoned with there help. Not all cops are bad though, some just abuse there power. The cops do not imprison the people. They investigate and find evidence to show the D.A. or they make an arrest. As you said, yes sometimes they lie and plant evidence, but there are more good cops than bad cops.
Its obvious because of the technology we have today, Scientists would have been able to prove that aliens exist by now... Yes you could say the same thing about the God of the Bible. By the way its trial not trail... and no the double jeopardy law is used because a person cannot be tried for the same charges twice as you pointed out. But my point is that lets just say that Casey Anthony just came out and said she did it. A confession. I'm not saying she did it or didn't do it its just a hypothetical. I'm also saying if new evidence came out that PROVED she did it, she would still not go to jail.
They did not create the laws that stated that Whites and Blacks could not use the same restrooms. They just did there job even if it was wrong.
Lets say an intruder in your home and about to kill you. If the cops came and stopped your death, they would not only save your life, they would put that person away before they harmed anyone else. So they make the situation better.

its not that they hide, its that someone may have already spoken the words that they want to say. So its pointless to copy what someone already said... so they use the up-vote to agree and the down-vote to disagree... so there is some truth because they use the down-vote without coming up with a reason to disagree with it
Okay, so after recent news of Casey Anthony's verdict of not guilty, I think most of us have come to question the double jeopardy law. Even though i would like to be a Prosecutor, i 100% disagree with this law. What if new evidence came out about Casey Anthony, or OJ Simpson that proved they did it? They still wouldn't go to jail because a jury already ruled them as not guilty. We are lucky because OJ is in jail now. But what if Casey Anthony kills again? She wants more kids, what if she cant handle having another child? One more thing, Casey Anthony is becoming famous for killing her child. She has been asked to make an appearance on many shows such as Nancy Grace and Dr. Drew. She has also been offered $1.5 million for a book deal. What if she decides to create a little drama and tell everybody she actually killed Caylee Marie Anthony (hypothetically), she still cannot be sent to jail. A confession after trial will still not earn her a place in jail. A CONFESSION!!! So this is why i disagree with the Double Jeopardy Law.
