Although we are wasting money to make them, we don't necessarily have to make them every year, there would be enough to survive for 5 year increments or more. Additionally, with prices jumping as they are, the prices will now jump 5 cents at a time, instead of incrementally by the cent. The economy not having pennies is like that one missing piece in a puzzle that you can never find.
Well, as many of you might recognize, my username comes from one of the most popular animes 'Death Note'. I have been a fan of anime for as long as I can remember. Starting with Pokémon and Yu-gi-oh!, I've never been a fan of Dragon Ball Z however. Anime takes and money both to write the storyline, hire voice actors, and animate the show. All in all, anime (other than things like Pokémon the use the same animations as much as possible) takes more time and money to make than live action shows.
I get what you are saying, that our parents cant teach you things you need experts for. My argument, however, was stating that parents could teach the basics like reading, writing and basic mathematics. I do not think that universities are a bad idea. The more advanced things that you actually need for a job need an expert. I have noticed that the mathematics and scientific classes teach many unnecessary things in the curriculum just to fill empty space such as quadratics and different ways to do the exact same thing. Besides, everything they teach you in school is online, and in more detail than they have time for in school.
School was created originally to train soldiers for war, other countries got wind of the idea and changed it to conform children to the rules of society. School is not there to teach, school is there to keep children aware of what they can't do. In other words, it is for lazy parents who don't want to teach their kids common sense.
What I don't get is why they need Ice Road Truckers, or Gold Rush Alaska. I will admit that Daily Planet is almost exclusivly science related, but with all the money they make on their channels why could they not dedicate those shows to a new channel and bring back shows like Things you Need to Know or Pop Sci's The Future Of.
