nash2 is right. The OP here is stupid. How would you not know swimming is in the Olympics? It was one of the first sports there I believe. In addition, please try swimming, it is so much more than moving your arms back and forth.

You compete against others in a physical activity. It's in the Olympics, there's a governing body (at least in the US) and it is done professionally. Why would it not be?
