I should have clarified myself in my argument. I was referring to the people with well-off lives. People who are fortunate enough to have those luxuries in life and yet still complain. Of course, I am sorry to hear about those who go through all the suffering as mentioned in your argument.
I can't stand negative people who are always like 'Ugh, I wish I never existed' or 'Life is pointless, why should I exist?' And I am referring to the people who are well-off and have access to most luxuries that some unfortunate people don't.
Like come on, the world is full of opportunities and happiness. There is plenty to do out there and instead of being miserable ALL the time, why don't you see the bright side of things for once? I, for one, am glad that I exist. I am grateful for everything and I have enjoyed many aspects of life such as good food and entertainment.
In my opinion, smartphones are VERY beneficial to students. With the latest smartphones out there, students are able to look things up in an instant. This could be useful for when students are doing their homework, for example. Smartphones also allow students to contact other students for help if they need it.
I am not religious or anything, but I personally believe in the existence of ghosts. With so many claims of sightings, there must be some element of truth behind those claims. There are a lot of pictures of apparitions and recordings of disembodied voices. I've even personally experienced strange things in my life such as a 'force' of some sort pulling on my leg.
As an Atheist, I believe that life is easier as I am not confined to a set of beliefs or rules. I am free to do whatever I please, within reason, and not have to worry about 'sinning' or looked down upon by a God. I also don't have to visit a religious place of worship.
A health service has its duty and obligation to treat its patients. The NHS, in this case, operates on taxpayers' money. Smokers and alcoholics pay tax, too, therefore they are entitled to treatment even if they do cause their own problems.
While it is a good opportunity to get them into the world of work, an AFTER school job is something I would vote against. If it were a WEEKEND job, then I'd support it. A student has already gone through an extremely long day and probably has received homework on top of that. An AFTER school job would only add more pressure which could be more harmful than productive.
I had always hated physical education at school. I personally think that gym class should be optional at school; I would much rather engage in physical activity at my own choice than to do it in the presence of other people. I am not very sporty myself, so it was really demotivating and unfair to be put with people who were rather sporty.
Times have changed and ARE changing. Yes, it may seem like kids are being spoiled with all their gadgets and toys, but this has now become the norm in most developed societies. Modern kids these days are influenced heavily by technology and will be asking for phones, gaming consoles and computers etc. for presents.
Everyone has a different definition of 'too far'. Some people are more tolerant and less sensitive than others while some people do not take jokes very lightly. It all depends on the person, in my opinion. Personally, I am quite comfortable with jokes of any kind except for jokes about serious illnesses. I am also not a fan of ill-intentionally racist jokes.
