amen i say unto you! i couldnt agree more. allow teens to receive permits at 15 instead of 15 and 7 months, and maybe a 'school' or 'residential area' permit at 14 1/2.
i totally support the Graduated Driver's License program, but see little benefit to just raising the driving age.
btw, i am 14.
'innocent, mature adults'? if 16 yr olds are too 'immature' to handle it, how can they handle high school, jobs, homework, extracurricular activities, and college prep? would everyone rather have legal adults, 18 yr olds, just barely receiving licenses, with no experience when they are free to do as they please on the road without parental and governmental restrictions? just because someone turns 18, doesn't mean they automatically will become better drivers.
haha. im 14. dont buy them a car. they will appreciate the privilege if they earn it! btw, all those who are now saying the age should be raised, received their licenses at 16.
i agree. if 16 year olds have earned their right to the roads, why stop them?
