An unknown natural cause, is only unknown at present but will become know at some stage or point in time and again devalue any justification of god, just because something is unexplainable this doesn't give substance to religion, it only highlights how religion was concocted and used in times where there were many unknowns.

Saintnow, these people weren't looking to gain anything from this life they were looking to gain from the after life and the promise he gave them of heaven, and the fear of hell, they believed following him devoutly will save them from the fires of hell as you have stated many times, that's a powerful tool in a time of un-education and a time of many unknowns, the human mind was full of question but lacked the ability to answer, along comes religion with this convenient answer that requires no more question only direction, a very clever manipulation tool.

He gained status and popularity, and he was lying because God doesn't exist and he conned people into believing he was the son of God and had powers that's manipulation, something which wasn't to difficult to do back in a time of un-education.

its a great nation but not the greatest, Britain was the greatest but not anymore, for me I would lean more towards Australia being the greatest nation on earth and that hurts as a proud Englishman.

You seam to have a lot of hate towards non-believers Mr Saintnow, you just need to feel comfortable with what you believe in and believe that the rest of us have our own fate in our own hands just like you, if you believe were all destined for hell then sit back with a smug smile on you face and be comfortable with the fact that you know where your going after death, your desire to convert the unbeliever only provokes a reaction you don't like.

you don't have to think like him or be like him, just use your own interpretation of what you think could make this current world a better place or just create a fictional world with the perfect definition of your ideology, ignore the your faith on this one and embrace your imagination.

Of course reward is just as important as fear I agree, you have to allow them to be born as were all products of our environment so if you create the right environment then percentage wise you should produce all good people! and punishment shouldn't be required.
