I just have the following thing to say :

India is the world's second largest growing economy... after just 60 yrs of independence... after nearly 200 yrs of colonial rule under the British - who in that period robbed India of its vast wealth and heritage.

The point I'm making is that the Americans and the British are very proud of their wealth .... which is nothing but the looted booty from all their colonies. During the great depression it was the Indian gold that stabilized the entire western market.

Saying that India can't lead the world is like saying that a newborn child cant walk... but like a child learns to walk and run in sometime.... India will lead the world... certainly in some time...

Yes i very well do...The per capita income is the sum total of the entire income of a country divided by the total population... 65% of indians earn well... but 35% is very poor... i agree... so the net total ie the average comes out a bit low...and that of the top 65% is very good.. those who do well in india , the middle class(comprising of the majority) have great living standards... to laugh at them??? i think you should stop talking nonsense... n where are you from??

Mr EnigmaticMan - u missed the whole point when u said that the indian economy employs the majority in physical labour... what do you know about this country?? The indian economy is not booming because of manufacturing industries... it is booming because of its service sector .... which has no limits for expansion.. and india produces more engineers and mba graduates than any country in the world... who work in the service sector... hence.. not only will india sustain the growth.. but also continuosly expand... quite on the contrast with ur economy
