Yes, the Nazis were political animals who sought to completely exterminate Communism from Europe. They didn't care as much about whether a person worshipped the Christian God, the Jewish God, the Muslim God, or no God at all. Anti-Communism was the literal basis for everything the Nazis did. In their eyes they were saving Europe from Communism. The fact that so many Jews had been involved in the Russian revolution, and in Marxism generally, was one of two main reasons Hitler hated Jews, with the other being Jewish involvement in the Treaty of Versailles. The Communists were the very first group Hitler put into the camps. He absolutely despised them.
