WORK FOR FREE AND FAIR TRADE

The United States’ “free” trade policies only focus on competition and money-making, but not on helping those hurt by free trade. Free trade is unfair because it doesn’t accommodate workers or corporations that aren’t up to “free trade standard”. Fair trade; however, can provide fair and effective ways to trade without hurting those workers and those companies. Fair trade can help both the U.S. economy and other nations as well. It would be much more productive and efficient.

WORK FOR FREE AND FAIR TRADE

Fair trade means creating a win-win situation for rich and poor countries. Large companies would not be allowed to have unsafe working conditions, extremely low wages, or unfair prices on goods. People in poorer countries will have better living wages, so the US may not have to devote so much money to foreign aid. Fair trade could improve the international opinion of the US because we would be supporting poor countries. By comparing companies based on the products they sell, not their economic status, smaller companies can compete with larger ones. Fair trade would also discourage forced/child labor in foreign countries. https://www.fairtrade.org.uk/media-centre/blog/25-facts-about-fairtrade/#:~:text=Fairtrade

Protect U.S workers . establish job protection and stability for them and their families , so they're paychecks don't get smaller and they don't shed jobs hurting the economy . protecting u.s workers is a priority simply because they hold our economy together which if our economy crumbles then we make no money . Most will be out of work due to the stolen jobs , taxes will increase . U.S workers should be protected since they are the backbone of our country, and our economy without them will not thrive .

PUT VALUES FIRST

The government should be responsible for the people it serves which means the U.S should put its values before its wallet. There are more issues important to society than the benefits of free trade or the protection of U.S workers. Trade policy is one of the best ways to address global concerns including human rights misuse of child labor and even environmental degradation. This option puts people and the environment first.

Protecting U.S workers

Although this is a true argument, people aren't worried about how people are being treated. They are focused on how they are going to pay their bills. According to CNBC, “77% of Americans are anxious about their financial situation.” Money makes the world go around. We want to have a house, we want our lights on with running water. Focusing on values isn't going to make you no money for you to live. People work hard to make money to survive the next month, so why focus on other countries' values when people in our own country can't even provide for their families when working 9-5?

WORK FOR FREE AND FAIR TRADE

There are people across the world who also need food. They can work upwards of 12 hours a day and still make way less than the average American does in a day. There are children working alongside their parents in factories. They cannot go to school because they need to help pay for things they need. Other people need homes, food, lights, and water as well. Instead of thinking for ourselves, we should also think of others who may also have the same problems as us. The US economy does not need to be the best if it means others in need will suffer.

Putting people before their country can and will drop the economy. Focusing on people before its economy? If the U.S. lets their economy drop it is going to be too complicated to get back on top. The U.S. needs to put itself first for the people. Child labor is going to continue being misused either way.

WORK FOR FREE AND FAIR TRADE

By sourcing from factories that do not use child labor, other companies can be encouraged to stop these practices. Child labor will only continue if we keep supporting factories that use it. The US does not need to be on top if it means children will be denied an education because they cannot go to school.

Protecting U.S. Workers

the U.S. needs to stand up for itself. We are helping countries but we are not getting anything in return when we are in need of it. The rather sit back and watch us suffer rather than lend us a hand like we do when they are falling. We are giving those in the U.S who work countless hours night and day to feed their families little, they are getting paid little to nothing on their checks. Why are we not putting them first, they are our own citizens. They should come first before anyone in the world does. So, why give job opportunities to other countries, while our own people are struggling? Their people in the U.S who can't find a job, why not give them the jobs that need to fill instead of giving them overseas? We need to eliminate jobs in other countries and strictly focus on making them the same opportunities for our people.

Put the U.S. economy on top. If the U.S. keeps low tariffs our economy will remain at the top while still helping other countries.. Promoting more open trade with Mexico and other U.S. neighbors to the South will reduce poverty in Latin America, ease the flow of immigrants into the United States, and expand the market for U.S. goods. We have been at peace and want to maintain it that way.

Keeping the U.S. economy on top won't solve anything. History will just repeat itself, and the U.S. will just take advantage of other countries' corporations. How do we know that the U.S. won't just ignore them? It has before.

Keeping the economy on top will keep the U.S. as the most powerful country in the world. If we don't stay on top, the U.S. will be the one suffering. They will be taken advantage of and that's when history will repeat itself. They have been able to maintain peace with other countries by doing this. We have helped other countries out of poverty. We have to put ourselves first.

Aye twin that's cool and all but that doesn't help the problem of shipping jobs out to poorer countries and basically enslaving them.

It would be much more productive and efficient. It would very significantly benefit poorer people in poor countries just as much. Everyone would still make money and be safe. There will be higher labor standards and strict safety standards. Everybody would win.
