80% of Americans want voter ID. Hello Bront: I too want to establish the identity of the person casting a vote. But, it doesn't have to be a paper ID, that some people don't have.. I wouldn't be opposed to a retina scan, or a fingerprint scan, or a facial recognition scan.. People can FORGE paper documents, but nobody can forge your face. If the OBJECT was to identify the voter, why don't we apply any of those technologies??? Since we don't, demanding a paper ID looks more and more like voter suppression.. excon Side: Democracy
I'm also not sure why a person can't get a government issued ID that comes in the mail. I'm confused here Hello Train: You're not saying, are you, that ANY yahoo can pick up the phone or fill out a form online, and the government'll send the proper ID to you, right now, free of charge??? Dude.. I think you ARE saying that. In the real world, they'll have to GO to some government office, show 'em some government ID, pay 'em some government money, and THEN go home and wait for the ID to be mailed by the government. Why do you automatically jump to the assumption that Democrats can be suppressed by paper IDs but not Republicans? Hello Big: Oh, the same thing could happen to Republicans.. But, their voters usually HAVE the required ID. People who don't have the required ID are usually the poor and they usually vote Democratic.. It's still racist because that's the narrative the Democrats want you to swallow. The electorate in almost every advanced democratic country are required to complete an electoral register card before their details are recorded on the electoral roll. Come election time those qualified to vote are provided with a voting authorization identification document which they present at one of the desks located within the polling station. The voter is then issued with a voting card which he/she uses to cast his/her secret vote. Uneducated dummies who cannot read or write are given assistance to fill out the simple forms. The above sentence begs the question;- how in heaven's name can people who live in a country with an excellent, FREE education system mature into adulthood without being able to read or write?
