Yes, and this is cing from one! I believe we have lost our values, and as a result, we are not as respectful as previous generations! This is not to say all of us are like that, but overall I believe we are.

Yes, as families become smaller and nucleated, more attention is given to children in families of our generation. They become more self centered and selfish, hence they develop a very low tolerance for things and stuff that do not directly benefit them. Hence they are very impatient towards people and things that they do not like and are more rude than before. This was shown in singapore on stomp where a youths are often 'stomped' for being rude, not necessarily vocally rude but passively rude by their actions like not giving up their seats to the elderly and pregnant women that need seats, they completely ignore their presence by occupying themselves with their phones or simply pretend to sleep

It can be seen from their ignorance of the people around them. For example, on the train or bus, some people will communicate with people in the phone very loudly such that they affect those who are listening to music and reading story books. Besides that, upon exiting the train or bus, especially during peak hours, people tend to push each other in order to get out of the MRT stations or train stations as quickly as possible.

Today's youth are more rude than before because they are more self-absorbed. In this generation, where parents shower their children with care and protection, the children tend to be more spoilt and self-centered as they are taught to put their own interest before others. As a result, youths find it hard to accept the opinions of others and hence sometimes their actions are deemed as being rude as youths can be insensitive towards the feelings of others.

Yes they are more rude than before. This is because of the increase in the practice of expressing views and opinions online freely, this has lead to the youths believing that it is okay to express what they feel whenever and wherever, which may seem rude to the other people in the society. This can be seen from the rapid increase in the use of social media in the world, with the increased accessibility and commonplace of the social media, more of the youths express their views on a daily basis. They unconsciously practice what they do online.

It can be seen from their ignorance of the people around them. People tend to ignore the feelings of people who are in the same place and this may distrupt what they are doing. In the same place, everyone is doing different things. We should have arrange in a way such that in a common area, we do work that will not cause disturbance or inconvenience to others. It is a form of respect that we give to the others. For example, on the train or bus, some people will communicate with people in the phone very loudly such that they affect those who are listening to music and reading story books. However, people on the train are not interested in their communication. They may just need a quiet and comfortable journey to their destination. They can talk softly if it is necessary to take the call. Ohterwise, they may choose to call back once they exit the train. Besides that, upon exiting the train or bus, especially during peak hours, people tend to push each other in order to get out of the MRT stations or train stations as quickly as possible. Perhaps, they can be more patient and not to push against other get out of the area.

We are brought up in a society that trains us to be rude. These values are inculcated in us since the very beginning from when we are first exposed to the outside world. However, many of us fail to see that the reason behind this "newfound" rudeness are a result of our parent's influence. Quarrels, shouting, cutting infront of other cars to get to their workplace on time, these are just a few of the instances of selfishness that are presented before the eyes of our generation. It is no wonder that we incoporate these values into our everyday life. Whats worse is that parents often do not see the consequences of their actions and get their children back on the right track. Even if they try it is often too late and these youths would often go into a state of rebellion. Consequently, this results in a viscious cycle and a ever worsening generations.

Youths today are more rude than before as they are too self centered and ignorant towards the need of others due to their upbringing and the fast paced environment. They are constrained by an education system that narrows the definition of achievement as they only aim to score high marks for tests. There is too little emphasis on moral education, together with parents which pamper the kids as they deem them too important, youths are becoming increasingly self centered and ignorant. For example, “Late adolescents and college students love themselves more today than ever before,” Dr. DeWall, a psychologist at the University of Kentucky, says. Today’s songs, according to the researchers’ linguistic analysis, are more likely be about one very special person: the singer. Beyoncé exulted in how hot she looked while dancing — “It’s blazin’, you watch me in amazement.” Thus they are more self centered and ignorant towarsd needs of others.

Indeed, youths today are more rude than before, especially with the hike in technology. Today, most of us youths have smart phones, which we bring around with us everyday, which we cant live without. With all these technological devices we have, it makes us rude as we do not spend time with the people around us and are often seen with our phones, even when another party is talking or trying to make a point. This is prevalent in my society as many students are seen using their mobile phones during lectures. Worse still, they show no respect to their elders when they take out their phones to use during family dinners. They are not afraid of offending their elders and think that what they do is a social norm. This is compared to our elders in the past when there were no such things as phones and when fancily dinners were full of engaging conversations. Hence, youths today are indeed more rude.

Due to the increased competitiveness in today's society, it has caused us to be more rude than before. We are compelled to think more about ourselves and do things that benefits ourselves more than others. Thus, this makes us more self centered and more rude towards others. This can be seen from students, they see school as a service where they are the consumers. When they are not banging on the staff room door, demanding extra help, they are e-mailing or texting their teachers at dead of night and expecting replies straight away.

Yes they are super rude. They do not spare a thought for those around them and do not observe societal etiquette. This may be a result of their upbringing as parents wants to give their children the most peaceful and comfortable environment to live in. They tend to be less strict with their children also. The lack/absence of challenges and trials in their childrens' lives. Therefore they are more rude.

This is a copy of a debate that has been posted three times recently.

I think they are not more rude, because to say that any group is anything would be a generalization, and generalizations are usually wrong.

I strongly believe that youth these days are not necessarily more rude than before. Speaking from the viewpoint of teen growing up in a more or less developed society, I feel that, as compared to the generation prior to us, we have more exposure to ethical lessons and I do see serveral youths practicing these ethics. For instance, many are limiting their usage of vulgarity and profanities. Some may argue that our generation tend to be very blatant in our speech, however I feel that this is just the changing of our society in which our culture is being influenced by others vice versa.
