ARE VIRUSES ALIVE
THEY HAVE A CELL SI THAT ENOUGH

I think many people's view of a virus is the little spider-looking thing. This gives the false impression that these are like little spiders, living creatures that move their legs and swim over to another cell. While this is not true, this is what many people believe. Sure, they look like something living, but they aren't. Side: FUCK NO

No one actually knows the definitive answer on this question. Viruses have genes but no cellular structure. Viruses roam the earth and the body looking for a host cell to which they can attach themselves and come alive, if you will. A simple example of this lies within the Chicken Pox virus. Once a person has had the disease, they cannot have it again but the virus which caused it, the varicella zoster, is still in the body, kind of lying in wait. When the body presents just the right host cell, that virus will live again in the form of Shingles, a well known and symptomatically curable disease. I realize this is quite a simplistic explanation but it is what was told to me when I had the Shingles. Side: Yes and No
It depends on which definition u want to use. Many believe having a cell is all it takes. This is partially true, due to the fact that many living organisms contain a cell or more. However, the widely known definition for "being alive" is that it needs to be able to reproduce. This is a debated continuously since viruses do not make "baby viruses" buit spread. Some see the spread as reproduction, but others see the virus just gaining size, not really making more. Hope that helps Side: Yes and No

CAPS LOCK IS THE COOLEST Anyway, you are not completely correct. Viruses are not alive. They are a cell. They cannot travel through their own will. Water can travel in the same way that viruses can. They can reproduce, but not on their own. Once again, there are plenty of nonliving things that can harm us (poison, bullets, fire). In addition, for something to be living it has to have a matabolism. Viruses do not have one. Something that is alive also must be able to die. There is no way to "kill" a virus. Side: FUCK NO
Totally agree with you there. And as for the "cell" part, a virus is basically just a protein shell with DNA or RNA inside of it. A true cell has a lipid bilayer, unlike a virus. Also, all cells have organelles. Every cell has ribosomes to make proteins. Viruses do not. Side: FUCK NO
Um, I suppose it depends on your definition of alive. They can survive up to 3 days, exposed to air before they die. But they don't have a heart, and lungs or nothing. They're just hugely dominating DNA or RNA microorganisms that can corrupt any other DNA/RNA strand. Which is why they have no cures. They seriously "dominate." Side: FUCK NO

No, viruses are not alive - they do not have all the characteristics of living organisms. They have no membrane bound organelles to take in nutrients and cannot metabolize food to make energy for themselves. Viruses also can't make protein, can't move, or replicate on their own. They don't even have cells. Side: FUCK NO
