Maybe. But a conservative society will much more rapidly end up in a two class society, the have's and the have not's. THAT will rapidly turn into a war between those classes ("REAL" people will always fight to "have", and not be a "lesser being".) So, I'll take the slower breakdown. Equality makes it easier to take and share blame. Side: True

The emphasis on keeping people getting along and happy, rather than on progress and making things work will cause society to break down. Or, keeping people happy and having their basic needs met will make society take care of themselves. Please explain your argument. Humanity is a social species. We exist not as pure individuals, but as members of social groups. All social species must emphasize maintaining social cohesion in order for the society to progress. The idea that "keeping people getting along and happy" and "progress and making things work" are mutually exclusive simply isn't right. If people are unhappy and conflicted, progress isn't going to be made, and society won't work. In order for progress to be made (be it social, scientific, industrial, etc), people need to have a certain level of happiness (think Maslows Heirarchy of Needs) and people need to be able to get along sufficiently for cooperation. On the other hand, if things don't work and progress isn't being made, people generally won't be happy, and often won't get along. Side: False
