A cop approaches you gun drawn, putting you in fear for your life, can you outdraw him?
No telling, but I'd like to have the chance to outdraw a criminal who's planning on raping my wife. You wouldn't? Then give up your man card right now you nutless dick. By the way, you think the cops are shit but want to disarm me? Just ask if you want me to be more specific on how big a piece of shit you are. God damn dude.
No, the only thing which you should draw is your cell-cam as it is important, if not vital that all encounters with the police are recorded.
Police body-cams have been conveniently turned off at pivotal points during verbal exchanges between law enforcement officers and members of the public.
Filming whatever you can see in or from a public place is A CONSTITUTIONALLY PROTECTED RIGHT which even governments cannot override.

Hello N:
Well, there's that...
In stand your ground states, you're allowed to maintain your position when an armed person is aggressively approaching your position.
Are you saying that stand your ground isn't a defense if you shot a cop?? Special protections for cops that you and I don't have.. Talk about unconstitutional..
Lemme ask you this.. What if he shot at you and missed? Are you allowed to shoot back??
Well, your hypothetical, and most improbable scenario would reinforce the value of my counsel to record all interactions with the police, with both visual and audio functions of the camera.
When the clapperboard goes down and the drama starts with the cop discharging his firearm in your direction it would be considered by all responsible parties that it was a reasonable response in such a life threatening situation to return fire.
Or, as we used to say back home, always return fire first, ha.

Hello N:
ALWAYS FILM THE POLICE!
It is absolutely hypothetical and improbable. However it's better to answer these questions before somebody gets shot, rather than after..
You watch the cops on YouTube.. Me too. It doesn't look so improbable after viewing those videos..

So you think the cops are going around shooting people all while thinking those same people shouldn't have the right to a gun to defend themselves? Jesus Christ man. How fucking dumb are you?
Yes, I have watched a few, very few confrontations between the police and what I would determine as 'cop baiters'.
We all perceive such interactions differently and draw different conclusions from our observations.
As I'm very much pro-cop I go with the narrative that full cooperation should be given to the police including the provision of your name, address, D.O.B., where you're coming from, why you are where you are and to where you're going.
An officer's questions should be answered in full as such collaboration will help him/her to ascertain whether or not you're a wanted criminal, a terrorist, an illegal criminal immigrant or someone of interest to any of the various law enforcement agencies.
Anyone who loves this wonderful country should be willing to give any police officer the requested information openly, accurately and respectfully as such an approach will make this WONDERFUL COUNTY a safer place for every man woman and child.
The cops are only doing their job, which under THE IMBECILE has become nigh impossible.
Yes, there are a few LITTLE HITLERS whose aggressive attitude generates a them vs us mentality, but we shouldn't let the actions of these lowlife cops tarnish the rest of the force.
IN 2021 129 POLICE OFFICERS WERE SHOT DEAD,
With such statistics it is wholly understandable that cops approach some suspects with their firearms ready to thwart any potential life threatening situation developing.

The problem is that scumbags tend to gravitate towards these types of jobs because they give them authority over the general public. A lot of cops are nice guys with the best intentions, don't get me wrong, but generally the point stands.
I've been saying that for a few decades, but in the overall scheme of things I feel we make society a safer place for all decent folk by coroperating, BUT RECORDING all interactions with the boys in blue.
My old man was a cop as were many on my friends.
To a greater of lesser extent they all communicated in POLICE SPEAK which usually included language designed to establish them well above you in the pecking order.
They're trained to TAKE COMMAND when dealing with the public whether in verbal or violent altercations.
Thus such bellowings as; GET ON THE GROUND, ''NOW'', or, WE ASK THE QUESTIONS AROUND HERE.
A police force in a democratic/free society can only be effective if it enjoys the support of the majority of the citizens.
Cops who bully and/or degrade members of the general public to inflate their ego goes against this objective.
But, in most situations they have the whip hand and in this context I feel it's prudent to box clever and feed their ego.

Completely agree. You're absolutely right.

Again, I agree. You should always cooperate if possible. Chances are you'll make things worse for yourself by being obstinate.
Case in point: many years ago I confided in the wrong person that I was growing marijuana, which is still illegal here. That person dobbed me into the police and I got a visit. The amount I was growing could have technically landed me in jail for up to fourteen years (although for a first offence that would probably have been unlikely). When the police arrived I first tried to talk my way out of the situation, but once I realized the game was up I cooperated fully.
Anyway, I was subsequently arrested and taken into custody, where again I did my best to cooperate. Partly because I cooperated, and partly because the arresting officer didn't properly adhere to the law, all I got was a police caution (which is effectively a slap on the wrist). I didn't even have to go to court. If I'd gone in there acting like an asshole, I have little doubt they'd have thrown the book at me.
Phew, that experience must have produced a few anxious moments and many sleepless nights.
I hope your confidante had a nice funeral, ha.
When confronted with such a traumatic instance as you described I guess instinct kicked in and you opted for eating a few helpings of humble pie rather than a year or so of porridge.
Not to bore you here but my cop dad always made the point that the only difference between those in jail and those outside jail was that the free citizens didn't get caught.
My mum always fatigued us with her favorite adage;- Love many, trust few and always paddle your own canoe.
Anyway, your natural ability to react diplomatically to events as they unfolded meant that you went through the ordeal and came out the other side, maybe a little psychologically scarred but a lot wiser.
Another boring family anecdote which you may find loosely applicable to your run-in the the blue-bottles was the point my uncle, who enlisted in the R.A.F., the day after Britain and France declared war on Germany, always made when listening to someone claiming to be under pressure for whatever reason;-
Having a Messerschmitt Bf 109 up your arse was pressure, going to court for running a red light isn't.
Phew, that experience must have produced a few anxious moments and many sleepless nights.
Mate, when they put the cuffs on I was absolutely bricking it. I was convinced I was going to jail because I had more plants than I could reasonably argue were for personal use.

Yup, I knew they had me bang to rights, and acting like a dick would only end up making it worse. Plus, I knew they were only doing their jobs, so I harboured no ill will towards them.

Absolutely. I think most people have broken the law at some stage in their lives. It's more when you start doing it repeatedly, or if you've done something really heinous that it becomes a problem. Basically, most decent police officers over here only classify your offence as "naughty" if it creates a victim, which I think is exactly how it should be.
Yes, I have watched a few confrontations between the police and what I would determine as 'cop baiters'.
Hello N:
Yeah... Those are the most interesting.. Popcorn is required. How is the cop going to handle a "baiter"? Even the baiter who calls him the most vile of names? More popcorn.
They're the canary in the coal mines. They're the ones who risk their lives, and certainly their freedom, to INSURE the cops handle YOUR arrest Constitutionally.. And, their ranks are growing.
Yes, there are some pricks who bait the cops, NOT because they love America, but because they hate the cops. No matter. It's the result that counts. What's crucial, is how the cops respond, not what's in the baiters heart.
Being a cop is hard. We ask soo much of them. But, doing their job CONSTITUTIONALLY, isn't TOO much to demand..
An officer's questions should be answered in full as such collaboration will help him/her to ascertain whether or not you're a wanted criminal
Uhhh, no.. First off, the 5th Amendment says one is not required to be a witness against ones self.. Ergo, giving your drivers license to a cop, who is surely going to run it through his database to SEE if you're wanted, ISN'T something that a citizen should, or is constitutionally required, to do.
Yes.. Being a cop is hard, and it's hard on purpose. That was the framers intention. In a free country, it should NOT be easy to take someones freedom away. The constitutional restrictions under which cops operate, protect everybody.
But, if they investigate me, they'll have to do it WITHOUT my help.
Put simply, Excon lies about being Jewish to try to open doors for himself. You can bet your sweet ass that if he lived in Nazi Germany he'd identify as being Aryan. He's an opportunist, not someone to be taken seriously.
Your OBSESSION with me is nuts, pure and simple. You are so wound up about me that you are unable to participate in debate, without pulling your hair out over me..
Lmfao. My obsession with you? I couldn't give a fart in the dark about you. You're a textbook narcissist and a case study in delusional feelings of self-importance. That's why you lie about yourself, it's why you lie about your military record and it's why you capitalize every third word.
nope im cooperating. if they shoot im fucking dead. aleast im gonna be famous as fuck like "cop shoots innocent high schooler at gasoline station" or some shit on the headlines
A cop approaches you gun drawn, putting you in fear for your life, can you outdraw him?
Not in your world no. In your world I have no gun, remember you fucking dumbass? He just shot me in cold blood, and I couldn't shoot back because of your stupid ass. How do you feel about empowering the cops more and making me helpless you fucking retard?
