A society without values cannot succeed.
A society without any values, no matter how silly they are, cannot last more than a couple of generations, and will ultimately fail.
Or will it?
What's to stop a hedonistic, anarchistic society from doing as well as an ordered society with intrinsic values?

Values are used as stepping stones for members of the society would get along. If values never existed, then people would do anything they want without the consent and comfort of the people around them thus succumbing chaos. Therefore would result in failure of the society. Side: Agree
I believe a society needs in values and without them it cannot succeed. Values are our traditions, beliefs, history and archeological monuments and and so one. We were taught on them about past of nation, respect e elders, respect and value the their efforts through their work as values and if we want to continue our generation and survive in the world where globalization is increasing, we have ro have values. Because it makes us unique from other. Side: Agree

A society? Or species? As far as society goes, no, but I do believe that monkey culture, despite it's inclination to rape and attack outsiders is certainly thriving, minus the harm humanity has done to jungles and wilderness. Foxes do well also, of course, they live outside in the cold, so I'm not sure how nice it is to do that. But on the whole, the human species will not become purely hedonistic, unless you mean complex hedonism, in which a society values life being enjoyable and innovates and invents and works together to make all people be able to live a nice life, based on fair laws. Really depends on what you mean by values. But i'm guessing its a definition I don't see as necessary, understanding yourself, environment and so on well looking out for yourself can result in a wonderful society full of cooperation, and so a strict morality wouldn't be needed. Side: Disagree
