A world without money

Give me your reason why a world without money would die or could actually work :3

It would crash and burn

It could work

It wouldn't work

you could have a barter system, buts that more or less the same thing or you would have to have a totally socialist system.

Now I'm not anti socialism but I am into personal liberty. Humans work best with the carrot and stick system and currency allows you the freedom to exchange the benefits of your efforts as you see fit.

Human greed will cause it to fail. If we don't have money we're relying on either a bartering system of economics (which is difficult to judge the value of something without money) or a gift based economy (which people will abuse).

Side: It would crash and burn

Impossible, money is just a medium of exchange, otherwise, without money, an economy would be strictly barber, so it wouldn't surpass an primitive economy. Money is capital, and it is essential to progress.

Even so, it wouldn't die. We are more likely to go extinct now than we were 20 000 years ago.

How are we more likely to go extinct now than 20,000 years ago?

Therefore, starvation and death is very probable without money as it was 20,000 years ago.

You are right x420xHustler,so why nobody asks the question:How did ancients survive without money and if someone thinks that the world crash and burn?

You are more likely to die though. Money is a medium of exchange, get rid of it, and the economy collapses and if your not near a farm and have something the farmer wants to trade, well guess what, your going to die. Most city dwellers (which make u a large percentage of the population) fir that category,

It would be horrible. For one yeah it would be nice at first everything is free, but eventually we would run out of supplies people would go on riots because they can't get the things they want. There's needs to be some order to make sure that this never happens & we at least don't run out of supplies in the world too quickly.

Side: It would crash and burn

It would be a total disaster. History shows that many societies without a fiat currency suffered from mass starvation and depopulation of cities. Without a medium of exchange, it is simply too hard to keep supply levels where they need to be.

OK, so if there was no money in the world then... this is my view...

Say I had Food and You had Shelter, I cant live without Shelter and You cant live without Food, So we want to trade but the trade is not fair, No trade is ever fair so money was invented to people were not fighting of recources.

So if there is no money then peple will become savages and fight over recources, e.g. The Hunger Games or The Stone Age.

The world cant be sustained with no money, but sooner or later some bright spark would invent it.

Thank You.

Nice point but the hunger games was a bad example as there was money in the hunger games :P

Just think about it for one second. Money makes the world go around..., right? So without money..., it wouldn't go around. It's basic physics!!!! And if it doesn't go around, then one part of the world would be forever in darkness and the plants would die. Basic biology. And it would always be daylight on the other side of the world. Basic astronomy. So wolves there wouldn't be able to howl at the moon. But at least there wouldn't be any werewolves on that side of the world.

OK..., wait..., you may want tot take more than a second to think about this one... I'm not so sure about the werewolves but I have science behind me on the other stuff ;)

Despite of that the world is caught up in money, the world surely would go around without them.Because such thing as prestige will dissapear,so the attribute of wealthyness will be wisdom and spiritual level of the person, but not the expensive rags and cars.Although, people will envy that how a person is dedicated to the other...For that world, money,as the status will be meaningless. For example,I go to the store and take only what is necessary for me and nothing else, and do not pay for it, I sit on the plane and I was quite happy with economy class, and not in the business-class (only if it's needable for work or something emergency). I go to the doctor and he treats me very well for free.I am happy to go to a posh restaurant and have dinner there for free and do not give a tip to the waiter, and he serves me on the highest level, and so on.

Side: It could work

it could work it would just take a lot of time to transition into, but its not impossible, its not like money is a requirement for life to live on a planet, i dont recall any scientific studies that said money is one of the necessities of life...

But we do need some form of currency with humans, whether it be trading goods or whatnot

Side: It could work

Of course it would take time...Rome wasn't build in one day. Or maybe money would be substituted by another paying system...?

Citing a fictional movie as sufficient evidence is far from reality. Author only accounts human action on his perception.

It's not a movie and it ain't fictional ( it's a real TV series [Based on fictional stuff] )

And Why is it not a good example?

Human society working without money is a fact of nature. It's the way we have evolved to arrange our relations in a natural state before agriculture.

However, no one actually wonders whether happiness exist if there is no money. Of course it is - if it is a personal pleasure and happiness - without it or not.

Maybe even if you live somewhere in the country, alone or together with someone - then even more so you can cope without money. But,on the other hand, sometimes you need them, but still...If there is no money in the whole world-so let it be no problems,no lies,no jealousy
