I agree that practice is what going to answer the important questions. However, the fact that practice cannot be ignored cannot be a convincing argument. Academics cannot be ignored either. For example, its dangerous to run a continuous current motor when you don't know how it theoretically works. Side: Academic / Idealis

Realists always have to clear up the mess made by idealists. Once a nation is forced to come out of an idealist induced state of denial and vote in the realists the mess is cleared up. Then the fickle public will once again start to believe that there there really is something nothing, vote in the idealists and the whole sorry saga begins all over again. I agree that reality rules. But I also want to point out all of life is really about balance and this is another example where you need some of each category. Simplifying this vote down to an either or - mutually exlusive - selection is itself not reflective of realism. Side: Practitioner / Realist
