So being a liberal lover is a bad thing? Ignore the media sweetheart, and be whatever you want. Hippies introduced sitar music to America so they rock. They fight weed bans so they rock. Contraceptive rights and so on. You are a liberal hippy and that is why you rock.
Your a hippie but not one of the '60s kind .Your one of the new hippies who think slightly differently. More sainly at that. A hippies a hippie no mater how tall.
I agree you are a hippie. However, loser you are not.
hip·pie noun \ˈhi-pē\
: a usually young person who rejects the mores of established society (as by dressing unconventionally or favoring communal living) and advocates a nonviolent ethic; broadly : a long-haired unconventionally dressed young person
I don't know, are you? To be anything that requires a lifestyle, requires you to make a choice. You can have hippie qualities and not be a hippy. You can have none, and be a hippy still. It's just a title.
Though if I were making any snap judgments, I'd say anyone against government, business, and very brotherly love-esque, is a hippie.
What's to stop me from calling people who like to hike hippies? Nothing, if there isn't a set premise on it. It's a way of life, it's not a set precedent. I can't think of a good example of another way of life, but something set in stone would be a job title or even a religion. Their is specific rules to follow or requirements needed to be in a certain religion or have a job title. Their isn't one's with ways of life.
I found another example of a lifestyle that you have to claim, or it doesn't matter what other say. The renown, and pretentious, the terrible, and self absorbed Hipster. What is a hipster? Is there any set guidelines to be one? If their isn't then who can claim anyone is or isn't one? All of these questions apply to a hippie as well. If you can't objectively define it then how can you just label someone something because of a majority of the type of people that express that lifestyle. What if there's a hippie that owns a corporation, and doesn't stink, and smoke pot.
Wow, you are really good at not clearing up your point.
Ok, so if she thinks she is a hippie, and I call her a hippie it is ok. And if she doesn't feel that she is a hippie and I call her a non hippie that's ok. But the other scenarios are bad?
Lifestyle choices, that are not set in any clear definition can only be decided by the person themselves. I can't think of a simpler way to explain it.
I asked you how to determine it and you gave me 3 worthless answers. Not her question, mine.
They were all variations of this very statement.
LIES!!!!!!!!!!

This does not say anything like that. This is just saying that the label of hippie needs to be treated differently.

Ok, hipsters are like hippies, still not answering the question.
I'm saying it's not up to an outside perspective to accuse anyone of any lifestyle. It only makes a difference if they personally agree to it.
Finally, but this is only saying that just because someone is labeled a hippie, doesn't mean they are one. Doesn't say anything about how to tell if someone is a hippie.
hippies know about the circle of life, aka, animals kill other animals to eat them. Hippies know their body has to be in a healthy state, along with their mental state, by not eating meat, you are missing out on some very important proteins and nutrition. By worrying about the cruelty of animals, you are stressing yourself out because you are not doing anything to stop it (aside from signing some petitions here and there)
Pro choice? that's pretty much akin to human cruelty (think about it)
I consider myself a hippy, but I joined the war to learn more about life and the dark side of life, aka murder. To experience the fullest extent of human emotions, you have to give life, and take life. The 2 extremes of yin and yang.
So no, you are not a hippy! you are (no offense) A conformist! ewwwwwww
No, you're another human being with personality traits. Traits that show complexities far superior to that of one single term to define the person you are.
