Are Americans in denial about the possibility of Socialism occurring?
America,a country found on many principles and morals. A country that limits the power of the government through the U.S. Constitution and grants the power to the people. A country this is currently plundering into an unknown place,a place some call Socialism or "State Capitalism" if you will. But many Americans refuse to believe that that socialism will occur, regardless of the fact that the government has given us many signs that this is going to happen. Are Americans simply in denial about this happening? or do they truly believe that our country is simply going through a "rough time"

I'm split on this. Half the time, I think it's Alarmist to believe that this nation will actually become Socialist (truly Socialist, where the government runs the entire Market and there is no private property), but at the same time, it's not good to just think "it'll never happen, so no point in worrying". It's best to just stay away from socialism, but let's face it, people like the idea of taking away private property rights mainly because a lot of them don't have much anyway. Or, at least, think they don't have much. Most people, now, who advocate Socialism would probably be really pissed if it ever did happen. No one likes the idea of the Internet becoming government controlled unless they have no internet. No one likes the idea of borrowing a government car unless they have no car. Same goes for houses, food, etc. Side: Not Really
