Are Christians REALLY this ignorant??

"On Easter Sunday, the most holy day of the Christian calendar, believers attended religious services-" (from http://www.mail.com/entertainment/lifestyle/1988870-ap-photos-easter-celebrations-world.html#.7518-stage-set1-3 )

LOL. Do Christians think they invented Easter or something?
Even the NAME "EASTER" quite clearly belies it's Christian origins.
I mean, surely the name "Ishtar", pronounced nearly the same as Easter MUST ring some sort of "bullshit alarm". I mean, when you celebrate a holiday centered around eggs and rabbits, clear symbols of fertility, and when the name Easter is pronounced the same as Ishtar, the GODDESS of fertility, you'd think someone would realize Christianity, namely Easter isn't as original as you'd think. Constantine simply renamed a Pagan holiday and tacked on Christian crap onto it. Not that it's a bad thing. I just think it's rather ignorant that people completely ignore this simple fact.
Very ignorant. And quite dangerous...

Are they really this ignorant to think that Easter is THEIR holiday?

Are they aware they are celebrating a holiday from a religion quite outside their own?

Ae they aware that "fertility" implies sex, something Christians are traditionally rather opposed to?

You're an idiot.

1. Every one that celebrates Easter isn't Christian. Some people celebrate all holidays.

2. You don't have to know the history behind something to celebrate it. When you were born you celebrated with your family no? How much history did you know?

3.Both sides are yes because you think that you're correct, when in actuality generalizations like this one are rarely ever correct.

Please take your religion bashing someone else.

To be honest it's barly a Christian holiday anymore it's more of a holiday that just makes kids happy because they get free chocolate from people. Christians have made Easter their own so that can celebrate their way and not something else... Like Ishtar.

Why are both sides the same by the way? Yes and For sure pretty much say the same argument and is an unfair debate for those who don't think this is ignorant.

Most likely. I wish they would quit with the 'you shouldn't celebrate our holidays because you're an atheist' argument, because it's not only their holiday, and I'm not really an atheist. Rant over.

They really are. They rip off pagan holidays and pretend to be against paganism.
