Yes, GMO's can be used, ARE used, and whether you know it or not you have been eating GMO fruits and veggies for decades. People make the mistake of equating the word "modified" in GMO with "mutated." (And even in sciences like biological evolution--my field of expertise--people often erroneously equate a mutation with an always deleterious or negative change.) This is indeed not the case. Many mutations can be advantageous, and those indeed are the driving force of Selective Inheritance, which is how we evolved to the top of the food chain today. Us homo sapiens. But I digress. So, yeah, GMO foods have been around for years and only recently have the libtards jumped don the bandwagon to equate them with other evils like processed foods and refined sugar and HFCS--all of which people should be much more leery of than GMO foods. Some of the modifications we do with the DNA and rNA of the organisms include things like making them more nutritious, and more disease resistant, thereby lessening the need for chemical applications like pesticides. GMO crops also produce more, thus meeting the world's extraordinary food supply. Always keep in mind that the GMO process does NOT use any sort of chemicals or radiation or any of that stuff. (some food is irradiated but that is another different topic.) All they do basically is splice and combine genes into different combinations. If any of you amateur gardeners or botanists have ever done any fruit tree grafting, or hybrid veggies in your garden, well, you have basically done your own GMO! http://www.scientificamerican.com/ Side: Yes, GMOs can be used
